Yeah. If he’s having a hangover after beating a makeweight in the fourth round, that’s not a good sign..

Rune should try going down the middle more at present, than wanting to found angles of the court, maybe he will find his rhythm more, he is making far too many UFE at present

In a 5 set match, it's easier to go "walk-about!" He allowed the guy to hang in there & it's probably costing him not only physically, but mentally!

I don’t know where Rune’s head is at the moment, but I can’t legit tell what is happening. It doesn’t seem like a hangover, but it doesn’t seem like someone who is taking the opportunity to get past the QF of a slam either.

I'm not taking you to task for this comment, and I think I take your point, which is that none of these guys went through Novak or Roger or Rafa to win a Major, (if I'm right about that, except Medvedev, as you say,) however, this is a semi-final, and Thiem DID take out Novak in the semifinal at the French in 2019. He just had to face Rafa the next day, was his problem. (That semi was played over 2 days.) He also took Novak out in the QFs in 2017, btw, but lost to Rafa in the SFs.

Yes, there is a lot at stake, and I agree with all who say that Novak is the biggest challenge in the tournament, esp. at this high water mark. However, it's Novak who's got the pressure of what's at stake, at 36...window is closing. Alcaraz, even more than most of the youngsters, seems to handle pressure very well...his whole future yawns in front of him, and he plays like he has all the time in the world to accomplish big things. We'll see on Friday. Still, I know what you mean: If you come for the King, you best not miss.

I don't think he intends to miss. When Meddy grabbed the #2 seed, he knew he would have to go through Djoke to get this title. I liken he views this match like David going to battle Goliath w/ only his sling in tow. Not afraid of the fight and not intending to miss.

I'm hoping and counting on it! If Novak can get past Alacraz, he'll need a quiet, easy final! Heaven know Rafa had plenty of them w/ pigeons like Ferrer, Puerta, Federer, Wawrinka, Thiem, & Ruud! Besides Soderling, Novak's been the only player to test Rafa at this event!
