I think Jelenafan is feeling dehydrated again.

I still haven't had much chance to watch, except to glance over at it, and I have heard no commentary, but here's what I was thinking, when Ruud got out to a flyer, and Kieran will appreciate this, I think: Remember we used to talk about Soderling bringing an extra bit of spite and malice into that 2009 RG match v. Nadal? There's a fair bit of bad blood between these two. So I figured maybe it gave Ruud extra motivation. Now, maybe Rune is thinking: Of all people, I don't want to lose to Ruud! Revenge is a strong motivator, and it can go both ways. it's my theory.

If Rune is to win it, he will have to win in 5, but I think it would take a total collapse on Casper’s part at this point, and I see Casper as the more focused player in general. Unless Rune pulls out a lot of MTO and bathroom break moments.
Casper did ghost him in Rome. He was up a set and a break and then was hard to see.

The biggest adjustment Rune has made is he is getting more into the court, not waiting for things to happen, standing at the baseline

Yeah, I always admire lower ranked, less fancied players who have spite. Soderling was always a threat in earlier rounds (a 6 inch putt in finals). Ruud has maybe a smidge of watered-down gentlemanly spite but heaven help him if the Viking gets his teeth marks into him, he’ll chew him up like tasty raw meat!

2 UFE for Rune so far trying to serve out the 3rd set
Okay erased, absorbs the heavy return of Ruud

What a pass from Ruud!
Another chance from Rune to win the 3rd set
Rune responds and wins the 3rd set 63

I'm getting desperate here, we Holgerites need help and much more scotch. We need an equivalent Norwegian fan signaling just one more set....

In fairness, then birds there are blondes. I’m not saying they’re scandi but they’re definitely premature..

Ruud has to chanel his inner Borg and not getting rattled, though he has always been calm on court, this is a mental battle challenge now for Ruud
