Yep. Especially when Novak was serving at 4-5, 0-30.That was a winnable set for Ruud, and he comes up empty. He's going to have to dig really deep now.
I think a war of attrition works better for Novak.Ruud needs a big reset in set 2. His failure to keep ahead in set 1 after securing the break is his downfall. The only thing that may help him is if he can make this a war of attrition.
Possibly unless nerves strike with what he can achieve with this win.I think a war of attrition works better for Novak.
Agree, he should have won the first set before the TB. It was too late then, Novak found a range. That was a winnable set for Ruud, and he comes up empty. He's going to have to dig really deep now.
I'm in a worst possible place to watch this, on some birthday party of some kid and sports bar is supposed to have well RG final on the screen, but they don't have it. I pulled out my phone and just watch it there. Ignoring the socializing, it's too crowdy and too noisy. Some might say I'm Ruud hahaha.
Novak still won a set while not at his best, raised the level as usual when it mattered. He'll play more freely from now on.
Got to keep the marriage going, I am old school. Peace is a mandatory. That made me chuckle. Things we have to do to keep the peace eh?
Stand on that baseline for Novak's 2nd serveCasper needs to be more aggressive on the return.
