I do believe that Medvedev seems to be playing under the radar. Haven't seen any of his matches, but he's taking his ranking on board and, surely realizing that he's been gifted with an easy bottom half, is going to try to make the final. If the top half beats itself up, he looks like he's willing to be ready to bust whomever up in a final.
I am curious to see a potential Sinner vs. Medvedev QF match on Clay.

I have watched a few of his matches on replay, he is going okay, the bottom half of this draw have everything to play for and more!

I haven't had time to read everyone's posts, and I'm going back to today...sorry. Quick thoughts: Felix seems to really be coming up to the potential we've been hoping for him. He played the best I've ever seen him today. I'm sorry he chose today to bring that level, as a Rafa fan, but I am glad to see it. Didn't see any of Novak, but I did hear he got broken...just went on a tear. He hasn't been tested in this tournament, and he hasn't played much this year, esp. in Bo5. As to Rafa, did today wear out the 35-year-old, or is it one of those "that which doesn't kill you makes you stronger?"

Interestingly enough Moxie, Felix's most impressive matches this year were his two losses at the GS: against Medvedev at AO and today against Nadal. I do think his level against Medvedev at AO was higher than today's match

As for Nadal, he definitely should have finished the match in four sets. The reason I have said this is because he was playing well in sets 2 and 3, then suddenly he became an UFE machine in the 4th set that allowed Felix to calm just a little bit. But like I said to Margaret, that's the problem with a 35 year old player: Your level of play will fluctuate throughout the match. It is just a matter of managing those level swings.

The good thing (for now) is that Nadal is battle tested (mentally) and he seems fine physically. We will see on how he fares on Tuesday.

I will have my special Rosary Beads blessed by the Pope for the match :)

What is a crown prince to do?

So Prince Zverev is feeling a little neglected and ignored and lamenting his royal victimhood;

“Of course he's the new face of tennis but it should be more mixed,” last year’s semi-finalist said of Alcaraz, and he hinted at the world No 6 receiving special treatment as he added: “It's obvious in which direction things are going and who the tournament wants to see go through.”
What can one say but… that’s Zverev!

Greek philosopher loss is a proof that he was no good this year on clay. Still a great win by Rune, this kid is improving nicely.
Well the Crown Prince Tsitsipas earlier had defended his Monte Carlo red clay Masters crown so there’s that.

Holger Rune at 19 years young has now beaten the Crown Princes Zeverev & Tsitsipas in back to back tournaments .

The princes must be vexed, theyve been waxed by 18/19 year olds ( Alcaraz & now Rune) already this year.

Pitter Patter of little feet becoming stomping boots??

Well they certainly are getting cranky because not only are they getting owned by 30+ year olds in Nadal and Djokovic, but also getting owned by the babes Rune and Alcaraz.

They have plenty to think about. They already spent a few years trying to figure out big 3 and now they have still Nadal and Novak AND 18 year olds biting their ass. They are screwed.

Expectations were high for Tistsipas after this year Monte Carlo, many thought that his game will finally click after injury and all he played last year after RG was poor.

If Rune holds his lead today, it looks like my prediction of a dangerous floater will be correct. In fact, if he wins today, he will be ranked 31st in the rankings meaning he will be seeded at Wimbledon. Not too bad for the 19 year old.
I have never been as happy for a prediction I made before this tournament @Moxie @MargaretMcAleer @tented :face-with-tears-of-joy:

It looks like Rublev has settled down in this match. Let's see if Sinner can keep the momentum going.

Darn! Rublev wins the 2nd set, 6-4.

Sinner just has to serve better. 54% first serve is not good enough.

It looks like Sinner's body (leg) is abandoning him. I do wonder if he should skip the Grass altogether to rest on his body.
