And then he bricked his first Djoker OH and donates his serve in the 3rd. After the first 2 sets took awhile, now I think the rest will go rather quickly.FAA shanked a few forehands and donated a 2nd set. 1 set all now. Let's see if he can keep the level or will vanish in next 2 sets.
Agreed. I'd like to see him win a grass warmup. I don't know his schedule, but w/ Babycakes and the Russians out, he should be able to do well at QueensEven if FAA loses this match, it looks like he is prime to do really well at Wimbledon. With Medvedev and Rublev not playing at Wimbledon, FAA is the one player you do not want to face in the Quarterfinals at Wimbledon.
It looks like FAA is scheduled to play Libema Open ('s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands) and Halle Open. Two grass warm-up tournaments are ideal for FAA. Hopefully, he does well on both tournaments (maybe win one of them).Agreed. I'd like to see him win a grass warmup. We shall see lol!I feel like Nadal will find a way to win this.
I do not think so. He has definitely been sub-par in this match, but he has been good in the tournament. Remember, he is 36 years old and he did not get a lot of Clay matches going into RG.They say the hardest thing to do in clay tennis is to defeat Rafa Nadal at RG in 5 sets
FAA is just one set away from completing that.
Rafa's level this whole tournament has been sub par, FAA has not lost his nerve in the match.
No his form has been scratchy in some of his previous matches, too many UFE and his serve has been found wanting.I thought this match he would have stepped up more.I understand he has not got many clay matches. He turns 36 in June BTW lol!I do not think so. He has definitely been sub-par in this match, but he has been good in the tournament. Remember, he is 36 years old and he did not get a lot of Clay matches going into RG.
It is hard to gauge Nadal's level these days due to his age. I remember watching Federer at age 36 years old play well in two consecutive matches then completely shank the following match. No his form has been scratchy in some of his previous matches, too many UFE and his serve has been found wanting.I thought this match he would have stepped up more.I understand he has not got many clay matches
So maybe it's the mental factor. Playing against someone his uncle is now coaching. He played it down in the presser, but maybe it's really in his head. If he does find a way to win this match, he will be ripe for the pick against Djoke.I do not think so. He has definitely been sub-par in this match, but he has been good in the tournament. Remember, he is 36 years old and he did not get a lot of Clay matches going into RG.
I understand your point regarding his age, and how one minute playing well, then the next minute not soo much, maybe because this is Rafa's backyard, and at this point in time I am expecting too much from him.It is hard to gauge Nadal's level these days due to his age. I do not blame you for thinking like that because that's how people think in sports and in life general.I understand your point regarding his age, and how one minute playing well, then the next minute not soo much, maybe because this is Rafa's backyard, and at this point in time I am expecting too much from him.
Maybe I need to re-set my way of thinking lol!I do not blame you for thinking like that because that's how people think in sports and in life general.
