If she doesn't stop all this drop shotting I'll be forced to put her as my second favourite player after Vika :D

That leaves just Serena and Ana reaching QFs among those who are supposed to reach there.

Pathetic 2 out of 8.

Now, this tournament is Serena's to lose.

No one can really match her.

I was going to say highly surprised that of the top 4 seeds that Serena is the one still standing. However, I think Ana has a tough route to get back to the final. She has some eager and nasty competition still on her side. The Serena side fell apart very quickly today.

Ana reaching QF itself is a surprise considering the slump she was going thru. I don't expect her to make the finals. It could be Garbine in the finals, just to test whether she can do in a final what she did in 2nd round.

Kvitova you had a draw here for the taking. She has to start making the most of these situations.

On the other hand if she's doing well on clay, she could be a monster at SW19 this year

I might be more inclined to believe this if she wasn't defending champion. Serena seems to be the only person on the WTA that holds up well under pressure.

I hope Patrick sees the giant opening that happened today, and he motivates Serena to bring her best from first point on from this point forward. These slow starts are killing me. Today was a step back for Serena in my eyes at least she had a positive differential between winners and errors vs. Azarenka. She will definitely have to impose her game on Errani quickly.

Thanks GSM and SMG for the blow-by-blow...
How is it possible as a 2 time Wimbledon champ, you allow a non top 20 player BAGEL you in a second set. One game...you couldn't win one game.
To be a Kvitova fan is to be a masochist :nono

Serena is just a tennis beast. I think she was born to play tennis and as soon as she steps on the court she turns into an entire diffferent person; it's like she becomes obsess.

Although I dislike Errani, so I will be miffed if someone with her serve were to ever win a slam.

I can't stand players like Errani. I really wish we could have another few Justines. I want some really good consistent clay courters who we know are going to do well once this time of year rolls around and consistently makes SFs or Finals of clay court events and slams. I don't think thats Errani.

Oh, I agree, but I can't pretend I don't have a sneaking suspicion that even Errani knows that if she can find a way past Serena she stands a good shot. I don't anticipate too much of an issue for Serena. She just has to serve well and land her return well which with 80mph serves coming at her she better be clocking the fuzz off those balls.
