Nick Kyrgios gains 5 ranking spots with "win" over Edmund. LOL. Anyhow, he's now at #25 in the live rankings. Moving up in the world.

Yeah, the live rankings counts this as a win, but I am pretty sure I saw once in the ATP site that when you move on by WO you don't get the round's points. If you win the next one, fine, everything is normal again, but if you lose you stay with the points you earned in the last win.

Actually Kyrgios did not gain any spots in the ranking with this "win" over Edmund. More so, he was already moved up before anyone stepped on court at RG , because a few players ahead of him were defending more points than him, thus lost them as soon as they factored in the subtraction of the points from last year.
I noticed this because I am monitoring the sire every day.

Another seed is eliminated. Kohlschreiber loses a marathon match with Pablo Andujar, after Andujar was down a break in the 5 set

This is so disappointing. Most of these points Nico looks like the better player, but he has messed up so many put-away shots. Just giving away points.

Nico survives. Making Rafa serve out the first set.

Andujar nearly lost it (his temper, but also the match) last night when they played on for two more games after the break. quite disappointing for Kohli to be unable to carry over then momentum and hold on to serve it out.

Wow, nice comeback for Big Kokk. Hopefully he can pull this one out.

Not looking good for Kokk - he's injured, but playing on.

Anyone notice that Bernie Tomic looks a bit like Morrissey? Early 80s Morrissey, that is.

Hmmm... you think? The lack of a Mod haircut, and dark hair makes it difficult to see. And truth be told I can barely remember what Morrissey's face looks like. All I can say is... "What difference does it make?" :snicker

Anyone know who Cilic is set to face in the quarters? I assume it has to be Murray? Haven't watched his matches so far, but seems like he's being quietly efficient

I can't take credit for it - not sure who first used it, but it has been around on this board for a bit.

Anyhow, I looked at pictures of Morrissey and the resemblance is only vague.

extra doofus (or douchebag?) points for Kokinakkis at some point in the 4th (just saw highlights before the start of the 5th). "cool walk-off" during the point before a Tomic smash, then looks up, hustles for the (somewhat reachable) smash - and trips over his racquet, faceplanting to the ground.

Big Kokk down a break, looking pretty flaccid out there.
