Joao SouSa is schooling Popsicle out there with some excellent shot making. Meanwhile, the Canadian is having trouble finding the clay inside the lines. One set down and serving at 1-4.
Pospisil is playing with an ankle injury I must add.

Thanks to Quentin Halys being from France, Rafa gets to play his opening match in Philippe-Chartier Court.

p.s. I am not joking, see last year's RG schedule for example.

Moxie, I'm sorry, but you overreacted heavily on this. Even if written language in general carries a good deal of subjectivity, allowing for different interpretations, the parallel with last year is obvious (even if you could not remember against who Nadal played last year), and the words "Thanks to" indicate that the writer considers the result a good thing (that is, Nadal on center court). Again, you can see what you want, irony, sarcasm, whatever (which I don't), and from this alleged sarcasm you suggested the poster could not control his body fluids due to the tension of Nadal matches.

In other times, with other people involved, you would yourself jump in GSM's defense. I'm only writing this because I know you can do better than that and are completely capable of saying "oops, sorry" (which a lot of people are not). Let's not start a war where don't have one.

It was by certain problems of the schedule why last year he played on the other court (he wasn't the only one) this year the schedule is running in diferent way so that's why he is playing where he has to play and not because Quentin

Just what I needed to see, Nadal is leading against this French dude, but he is horrible. Spraying some of his shots all over the place. If Djokovic played him it would be a complete blowout. Kieran, god help us... He needs to reach a completely different level to even think about winning this.

Sorry but I don't see that guy is playing so bad, of course he is not a "wonder" but I have seen worse players playing against Djokovic

I must say I like this Halys kid - he's got some nice shots, is aggressive, and seems to have a good head on his shoulders. That's just from watching one game, but a good first impression.

He came in on his serve at break point and Ralf passed him cold... you could see the air go out of the kid. :snicker

That said, I like the him too. He's just way overmatched today.

Is Isner already 30 years old? I thought he was little bit younger

Cahill was saying he was in the USO juniors final last year (?) and has improved since. Promising 18-year old, I guess.

By the way, talking about commentators, Cahill is one of the best, very fair and always goes to the point, no more no less

Hard to believe it was 10 years ago that Sesil Karatantcheva got to the QFs of Roland Garros.

Beyond question, he is my favorite commentator (with Mary Carillo 2nd).

I never feel like Cahill makes commentary about himself as so many others do (like Johnny Mac, Brad Gilbert,...). He calls them fairly, and combines knowledge, experience and insight to give the viewers a great perspective on a match.
