Nads being mildly tested earlier is a good thing for him for when he actually faces a legit threat which figures to be semis or finals. Sounds like Bolelli was ballbashing which is the only way to win at RG against him unless prime Novak suddenly walks through the door

Well, sometimes little details can bother them, some players don’t like to play under the sun, they do better in the evening and even better under the roof, others like to play under the sun and with less humidity and it’s clear that they can play on clay even under a little rain (not on HC) but the surface changes and it feels more sticky, diferent and more if it become like a pond. It’s a shame that RG still doesn’t have a roof
The forecast looks bad, more rain almost everyday :negative:

One of the predicted dangerous floaters, J. Sousa lost 0-3 to Pella, who is also a clay courter, but less successful.

I did not predict J. Sousa to be a dangerous floaters. In fact, I explicitly listed six players who have won titles on clay this year whom I did not consider as dangerous floaters. J. Sousa, RCB and Pablo Andujar were on my list of non-dangerous floaters. All of them lost in the first round. All of them had won a title on clay this year. Taro Daniel did not even qualify. Marco and Steven Johnson have won their first round matches.

p.s. Among the six, I picked as dangerous floaters, five of them won their first round matches. Only failure is Ferrer.

Only today he's not much landing them. But he's making a valiant show of himself, esp. for a LL.
Moxie.. Bolelli was crushing the ball just as hard as yesterday’s match per the commentators

Delpo down a break in 1st set. Considering that he was thinking about withdrawing due to some injuries, it would not be a big surprise if he bows out in the first round itself.

Though I saw them show a stat where they were a bit off on the mph's, but whatever, still more errors...as I said, not landing. He cleaned it up, though, and bothered Rafa to the end, after I wrote that.

In other news, wasn't that guy Joop a lucky loser? He just beat Sock in 5.

Yes, he is an LL. But his name is Zoop. I have not heard of him before. .... and some people were expecting Sock to live to face Rafa and give some trouble there. :lulz2:

Stan cannot even get a direct entry into a GS Qualifying Event with that kind of ranking. :lol6: He should simply beg for a wild card
into qualifying draw of grand slams at the moment.
He doesn't have to beg. He's a multi slam winner not returning from a drug ban. He will get a WC into any tourney that he asks.

May be in the regular tourneys. In GSs, they mostly give it to players from the same country except for couple of spots which are given on reciprocal basis. But, I am sure they would give him WC into qualifying draw, if needed.

Delpo rights the ship and wins the next two sets, after losing the first. A passage to second round seems safe now.

He and Muzz will get WC into the main draw. Watch and see.

IIRC, by playing in this RG Deliciano beats Federer's record of continuous GS appearance streak. I am not watching the match. Are the commies talking about it all?

He does. The New York Times wrote an article about it. Interesting about Feli changing his diet and routine post-30.

If Chardy beats Berdych I'm going to be so pissed off. I had him winning, and then I went back and changed it. Chardy screws me up ever time, whether I pick for or against him.

Ok. He just tied. Deliciano needs to play Wimbledon to break the record. I think he can retire after the Wimbledon. He already has a TD post somewhere waiting for him (not to mention that Judy is ready to adopt him as her pet).

This year's RG website sucks. Can't find anything that you want quickly? Why do they feel the need to mess up things under the guise of innovation and change?

I have found the same thing! It freezes on me immediately and I've basically gotten nothing out of it. It used to work great. Btw, the app works better.

Upon further pondering, I think you are right. They would want to have some star power and so give them WC. But, they won't give it for more than an year. If they cannot pull back their rankings in an year, they are probably spent force anyway.
