By dawdling, I mean that he takes more time than necessary. He likes to make people wait at every opportunity, and we all know that.
It doesn't affect the opposing tennis player..its different when you are serving and a player is trying to break your rhythm but it doesn't affects the return of serve. Krygios, Fed and a few others gets to the service position very quickly, But it doesn't means everyone has to play so quickly to serve. Sampras, McEnroe, Djoker, Connors are not so quick as Rafa. Again, I have played at the NCAA and challenger level .it doesn't affect your return of serves. It really annoys the fans of players opposed to Rafa because they want to believe he is getting a competitive edge which is truly insignificant.

Well I will stop hijacking this thread after this but it was more than a small step down. It wasn't as bad as Nole from 2016 to what we have now but Roger's play in 2008 was shockingly bad at times and in big moments. Rafa was obviously better on that day but that shows how flustered and off Roger was. He had no business losing on grass to Nadal ever, a million unforced errors and a damaged mind was to blame.
Just as Rafa had no darn business loosing a 3-1 and a 4-2 lead to Federer and Djoker at AO.

Me too especially since Roger was afraid to test his current form on the clay

Afraid to jeopardize what figures to be a great chance to win Wimbledon. Why play grueling matches and risk injury. I think you know Roger would destroy your boy on grass, good to have faith though. Time for #8 this year, that's still not as many as he should have but he's blown tons of opportunities there over the years.

Everyone knows that's completely untrue. If it didn't affect his opponents then why do you think so many of them have complained about his stalling? ! Of course it gives him an edge cos he annoys the sh1t out of so many people by delaying them. He towels off after being aced ffs.

DelPo is just bad..he needed the same medical massage that Roger received vs Stan and Rafa at AO.

Lol sure cos Roger is clearly known for his gamesmanship. Oh wait, that's actually not in the slightest bit true. Del Potro's problem is his wrist and movement and nothing else.

It should not affect the returner of serve, but it most likely affects the server when they are made to wait on the baseline. It can be annoying for a server to wait longer because the receiver is taking more time. Like I said before, it has been happening for many years, so people do not seem to care anymore, but it's still not exemplary behavior.

Now it's raining. I see that Chung took the 3rd over Nishikori, and up 3-0 in the 4th. Kei has some NextGen trouble.

He is not the only one, if you count the seconds that some players take walking in slow motion, asking the ballboys for the balls, looking the opponent plus bouncing the ball 500 times it's a lot worse. Anyway what ever all of them take time between the point it doesn't affect the game at all

No one said he was the only one who is slow. So is Del Potro, so is Djokovic at times (used to be as bad as Nadal with the ball bounces but has become much faster most of the time), so is Isner, so is Raonic. The point is though, there's no point in Nadal fans defending him being slow and saying it doesn't affect the opponent when it clearly does. We've had countless complaints during matches to the umpires when his opponents wanted him to be told to speed up and also interviews where people have stated they're not impressed and want the umpires to actually have the decency to do their jobs (shock horror) properly and hand out warnings and point violations as they should.
