She's wrong. I said the last few years so I'm also excluding 2011. He was way better the last few years than he has been since Wimbledon last year but of course he's benefited from the decline of Nadal and Federer. That's no secret and is no different than any other era where past slam champions have declined. Everyone gets old eventually and another player will reap the rewards and it will always be like this.
No Carol was correct. Of the big 4 , only Andy is battling an illness so there is no more excuses when these players encounter each other at a major. The winner will be the one who can manage their composure and the effects of Father Time the best.

Delpo / Murray, the big match of the day.
Murray is,dropping the, ball extremely short today..i can believe JMDP didn't crush a lot of those balls
I thought only Rafa could drop the ball so short.

Rooting hard for Del Potro.

I just saw this clip, makes we like DP even more. Bringing in Judy Murray to the conversation:lol6:

Well maybe you while Delpo doesn't 'remind' you your mother like he uses to do very often to everyone and not just Judy Murray, he didn't need to say that

Novak has always been this way . A lot of folks have mentioned it to me but I looked past it because I liked the way he competed. I feel a,lot of Fed fans have given him a pass because recently he was the real answer to Rafael. However there's was another side to this coin, Rafa truly got the better of their encounters until 2011 before Novak became the savior protector of Roger's legacy. It's been well documented that although he tries, Novak is no where as popular with the fans as Rafa and Roger is. Rafa is in the same role as Lebron James. LBJ is chasing the so called GOAT in Jordan which makes folk of Jordan's era dislike him with a passion.
A lot of these guys have their particular behaviors. I also find Djokovic's temper tantrums and ball bouncing annoying, and I can't give him a pass. However let's not forget Nadal's dawdling, which I also find annoying, and somehow has been accepted as the norm.
Djokovic has protected Roger 's legacy by taking away slams from Nadal, and as a Roger fan I am thankful. Nadal has denied Roger two possible calendar year grand slams, and more recently Djokovic has denied Roger 2 Wimbledons and 1 US open, so it happens across the board.

And Wawrika and Roger have denied Rafa to have more than one Trophy of each GS (AO) but not for that reason I have to attack them every time even that I'm not fan of them (they are not perfect either and sometimes I also find annoying)

Explain Nadal's dawdling..if you are talking about his twerks and other idiotocentrices which may be annoying to you as a fan,but it doesn't directly affect a,match. As a player all,you really notice is,the time before a player strikes a serve which Rafa has been receive numerous of penalties for. Rafa doesn't throw or smash his racket, he doesn't use foul language at his team, umpire, the fans or etc. So again explain what you mean by dawdling?

That's the difference most Rafa fans don't attack the players who defeated Rafa at the slams even though Rafa shouldn't ever loose to Pouille or F3 at a slam.

Verdasco is red hot at the moment. You'd need to be wearing oven gloves to shake hands at the net. That's one big beatdown he administered to Pablo Cuevas. Books his place in the last 16.

A slight step down doesn't mean you can't acknowledge that Rafa was also taking a step-up, and that's why he won Wimbledon. Ebbs and flows happen in even the greatest players' careers. But you cannot say that Roger is the only one who ever lost because he wasn't in his best form. Others have been better than he was at times, and not just on the day. Actually better. Over a period of time. And you can continue to bemoan that Roger lost that Wimbledon final, but it was a great one, (no matter what you say,) and Rafa maybe just wanted it .0000001% more.

Well I will stop hijacking this thread after this but it was more than a small step down. It wasn't as bad as Nole from 2016 to what we have now but Roger's play in 2008 was shockingly bad at times and in big moments. Rafa was obviously better on that day but that shows how flustered and off Roger was. He had no business losing on grass to Nadal ever, a million unforced errors and a damaged mind was to blame.

Me too..especially since Rada is hitting his fh harder these days..i would fancy an encounter a meeting vs Roger if Rafa is on a grand slam 10 match winning streak , its all about confidence vs Roger regardless of whatever tactical adjustments or juiced up backhand Roger has these days

I'd love to see them play at Wimbledon again :)

Fog up a break at 4-3 in the first on Stan. I figured this would be a very tough one for Wawrinka, if he gets by this it means he might be in good enough form to make a run to the finals.

Very disappointed in DP, this was an opportunity to make noise and he's getting pounded by Murray. It's possible that this will be his level from here on out but I hope he makes a bit of a run at some point.

Yes, they both denied Nadal a double career slam, so we do agree that they have inflicted pain on each other. That is the beauty of sport.

By dawdling, I mean that he takes more time than necessary. He likes to make people wait at every opportunity, and we all know that.

Afraid so. Darth is right. This may be the best level he can achieve which means he won't be winning anything ever again. :(
He may have a few more chances on hard courts.
