Clay Death, you may not be happy with Rafa, but, for the record, I am not happy with you.

Thanks Moxie:clap, I addressed the "not happy crap" in my earlier post. I hope the message is well received.

Soooo many negative Rafa fans on here! The guy's a giant! He brooks no argument, and he took on a great HC player tonight on a fast court and was magnificent!

well lets rethink this:

74% of you predicted a nole win. were all those people negative too?

I go by the record and I go by the numbers.

nadal also got killed in the very first round at Wimbledon.

nobody in the world predicted a nadal win today. nobody. none of the experts predicited a nadal win.

were they negative too? they were just being objective.

I prefer to be objective.

and that is the only way I will ever call it.

I thought that when Rafa buckled that 3-4 game in the second, he might fall away, but his mental powers of recovery are peerless. Again, throughout the fifth, he had all the answers and he caught fire spectacularly at the start of the tiebreak. It was a truly huge win for him. Had he lost, he takes positives, but no more. But the win is a marker, it's an indicator, and I hope now he skips Cinci and prepares somewhere for tilt at Flushing Meadows.

But first thing first, Milos!

Actually, there's four of us who picked Rafa to win in 3. I'm one of them, I'm betting Moxie and Tented are another two.

You give in too easy! Leonidas wants warriors like Rafa. But even still, objectivity shows you that in the form, Rafa has a shot at it. You claimed he was out of it after the quarters!!

he held nerve precisely when he absolutely had to. thank goodness he did not fumble this one away.

he had lost like 7 finals to nole in 2011. some fubled away from winning positions.

so I still cant say that I am happy with him.

but we will take this win. we needed it.

and we are healthy. no knee issues.

The draw at the USO will be interesting that's for sure. Nole isn't winning USO but I wonder if Rafa wants to see Nole in the semi or Murray. Recent history still says Murray is more likely to be upset in GS but Nole is mentally frail at the moment. I much rather Fed gets drawn in Nole's half with a Ferrer QF. Long shot but I can dream.

Who's this "We", Clay Death? You've decamped to Murray.

2011 was a streak, long ended. It's 5 out of 6 for Rafa now...

That would be ideal, Darth, and better for the tourney. Imagine Nole had Roger, Rafa then Murray? Or any combo of this. A possible Big 4 semi would be something to savour. Could be the last time we see it!

I like your style.

nobody on the planet thought that he would ever lose to darcis at Wimbledon.

these things happen.

nole is a beast and he has proven it time and again. especially against nadal on hard courts.

quite a few of those matches were beatdowns: he took apart nadal by the scores like 6-3, 6-2 and the like.

the true experts today did not have nadal winning this match.

and it looks like 74% of the folks here also did not.

I have to be strictly objective at all times.

people here will learn to live that.

blind worship is not my thing.

Stop it, Clay Death, you're digging a hole for yourself. Blind following of so-called experts maybe your thing, but you're not objective. You're negative. An objective view would even say that Raonic could win tomorrow. But you wanted to hand Rafa over to the Persians on Thursday. And you know what we said?

Come and get him! ;)

we means those of us who care about nadal.

that does not mean that I have to ignore or disrespect all others who are at the top of our sport.

I am still predicting a andy murray win at the u.s. open.

I believe he will be the man to beat at the open.

Roger isn't getting there, no prayer. And I think Djokovic might be slapped with an early loss at the USO. He is looking weaker and weaker by the tournament. When the match gets tight he is folding these days after coming up with aces all of 2011. It sadly looks like a Murray and Whafa world. Should I start watching curling :)

negative. experts follow me.

I said a full month before lendl said that andy has nole on the run.

as for tomorrow, I am not really sure what is going to happen.

and that is being honest and objective. there is not enough of a history between nadal and milos.

milos may play a match of his life and it could be over in 2 sets.

they are all vulnerable in the best of 3 sets foremats as we have seen all too often.

now nadal is the heavy favorite. milos could be slightly overwhelmed on a big stage.

and if the big man`s serve is off, he wont stand a chance.

hopefully nadal gets this done in 2 or 3 sets.

Did you really just give Milos a chance tomorrow? Now that's pessimistic!!

You think similar Murat, that Nole might lose real early at USO? I think matches like tonight and Wimbledon final are telling and I wonder if he can hit the reset button quick enough. It might look like last year for him, regroup in the Fall and go into AO with a bit of momentum

general tented may have said that nadal probably wont stand a chance but I could be wrong. it seems that I barely recall what he said about this match.

but the point is that 74% of you did predict a nole win.

you want to go after those people too.

you will have to learn to deal with the reality on the ground which I deal with.

all else is opinion.

I deal strictly with the numbers.

numbers speak a universal language. numbers are cold as death itself.
