Frances is a good player. The win over Rafa was no fluke, as he followed it up with a dominant performance in the quarterfinals and took Carlos Alcaraz into deep waters in the semis (Frances should have won that one by the way).

It's not like Frances is a mid-level player like Lloyd Harris or Mackenzie McDonald (who beat Rafa in the 2021 Citi Open and 2023 Australian Open, respectively). Now, those are guys Rafa has no business losing to.

Milos was on fire last night! In 3 sets, 37 aces? He had to be feeling good while Frances felt helpless! You can't hit it if you can't see it! Aced, 2nd serve on MP! Frances was not happy and moped off the court! The crowd was 100% behind their boy Raonic! :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :astonished-face: :fearful-face:

They just stopped the Korda match for "wind damage" but I didn't see what happened. Anyone? Something dangerous, it seemed? It might have had to with the hawkeye camera, but not sure. Anyway, they made an interesting point about Hawkeye in the wind: they showed the camera wiggling. Is it accurate in the wind?

All I saw they were doing repairs, it looked like a piece of railing that had come down in the wind, Korda went onto win the 1st set 63 and he is leading 5-1 2nd set edit Korda won 63 62

Probably some digestion issues with Korda if he’s partial to the same big steaks that helped his daddy, and that caused wind?

I'm so disappointed in Frances. He's in the great point of the year for his game, he loses in DC, and now he loses to a guy that is coming off a multiple year injury break. SMH.
The way he gave up is disappointing, and it looks like he starts the match playing good and if he goes to three sets he kinda runs out of steam.

These players go through all these daily conditioning workouts and can stay out there in practice hours at a time.
However don't players get "tired" physically when they are mentally drained? I know I do. It seems trying to keep mental focused for a long competitive match is the bigger challenge for these guys.

Well Frances and Korda just pulled out of their doubles match? maybe Frances wants a break to reset for Cincinnati

By this time next year, Jannik Sinner will either have taken the next step and have a slam under his belt, or he will regress and be where FAA is now.

And in Canada. I'm very worried for Felix. Max Purcell...really? Felix is about to become that aging prodigy/unfulfilled talent.

Sad but true Moxie, he has lost all confidence at the moment, he looked tense, he has no injuries worries, ( knee) his movement was fine, his serve throughout the match lets him down when he needed it, another first round loss for FAA
