Medvedev got called for hindrance. He hit Bublik with the ball during a point and said "Sorry" in the midst of the point, and she called him for hindrance. It follows the rule, but it does seem a bit dumb.

Rafa has had this condition since 2005,Nike makes special shoes for him,its a underfoot bone condition,he was told by doctors back then he might not be able to play tennis
Yes, I know...I actually thought it was even before, but it doesn't usually cause him this much trouble.

Well after RG he didnt do a thing and gave his foot rest? maybe he needs to seek his doctor's advice again, pain killers arent working.

I am going for a run to clear my head over this.Maybe we should sue the Rome Tournament on behalf of Rafa this is where it began.

The moment ball touches the opponent the point is over. I have not seen this happening live. May be he told sorry before the ball touched the opponent.

Begin at 7:50.

If you don’t speak Arabic or Farsi (I’m fluent in both, yet somehow still don’t know which one is being spoken), the commentator says: ”It’s a dick move, like Lendl used to do, but legal. Not a hindrance.”

It's a question if the ball touched Bublik, but would that have meant the point was over? Also, all Medvedev said was "sorry," and it's clear that the point was his. Even Bublik wanted to play a let. I think this is one of those moments when the rules get in the way of fair play. And I thought that's why there's a chair umpire. (Worth noting, it didn't affect the outcome of the game or of the match.)

It is hard to determine whether Med spoke before or after the ball touches Bublik. But, in any case it seems fairly obvious that it did not affect Bublik in any way. It was so fast that there is nothing else that could have been done by Bublik whether or not Med opened his mouth.

Interesting match ups tomorrow,

Rublev vs Fognini H2H Fog leads 5-3,he is wearing a "Somewhere Over The Rainbow' outfit,Rublev may need to wear sunglasses to cut out the glare:)

Schwartzman vs Paire H2H Diego 2-1,who may need all his patience against the Frenchman.

Tiafoe vs Denis the Menace,Denis leads their H2H 4-1

Karatsev vs Khachanov the Olympic Silver Medalist, leads their H2H 1-0.

When was the last time we had a Fedalovic free ATP 1000 Masters (not to mention back to back Fedalovic free Masters)? Does Toronto 2021 mark the end of the Fedalovic era?
