Daniil plays an elite player up until it counts. Sort of like Tsitsipas. Show me the money when the rubber meets the road, and then I'll care more about these guys. (And I am trying really hard to care.) I'm not convinced that Medvedev "really" wants the #1. If he did, he would have fought Djokovic harder for it at the AO. These guys can barely touch the hem of the garments of the Big 3 when it comes to pushing hard for what they want. Their road to #1 is very much TBD.
