Nara pulled out due to Hip injury, I hope she is OK, I like her quite a bit now that I saw her play in person

I saw Kurumi play Jankovic at the US Open last year - good match, Jelena won in straight sets, but both were tight. And Kurumi has a lot of game considering she has to be the shortest player in the Top 100.

There is also Dominika Cibulkova aka The Pocket Rocket.
There's more, Simona and Sara are not twin towers either.

My scoreboard is not working, does anyone know what happened to Venus/Pavly?

It must be raining...

Power cut in Montreal - you can see the results on page 2 - so far. Time for a beer Caro won again 61 61 as she ended in Istanbul:clap - and she played really well. As Rogers Cup wrote 9 min ago:

Coupe Rogers @CoupeRogers · 9 min

With a combination of superior depth and aggressive returning, Wozniacki outplays Hantuchova 6-1 6-1. #CoupeRogers

Aga won too -64 64 - here are some stats:

Aggie committed 20 errors, that's very uncharacteristic of her.

Did you see the score between Yanina and Karolina? what a complete route! With that and Flipkens losing in three, all the Belgium stars said goodbye.

The feauter matsh started, Genie vs. Shelby.
Shelby will give Genie a work-out, I am sure. I honestly think this is a toss-up other than the fact that the crowd will be on the Canadian's side. Shelby is a tough cookie! She lost a few pounds this year too!

Genie in all sorts of troubles against Rogers - lost 1st set 60 and score now in second 21 for Rogers. Well well who expected this. Second set 62 fro Genie. Must be frightening to play in such an atmosphere for such a homecrowd. Well match is open for the decider. Another bagel for Buchard. She is very fragile mentally and Rogers has caught the hint - Rogers Cup:cool:

Bouchard is broken for the 8th time! Surrendered 19 break points, only earned 7 break points, broke 4 times...
Now behind 0-5

Shelby will serve for the match with the chance of giving away a nice glazed donut!

This is OVER!

:cry

Well, at least Shelby let Genie put some cheese in the middle of the bagels. I did not
get to watch the match. What happened? Is it just a case of being nervous wreck and not
being able to handle the pressure of being the homecoming queen or did Shelby play
put of her mind.

Sorry to see Bouchard turn in such a poor performance at home.

No, it will be good for her in the long run. She will be grounded and learn the lesson
that nothing comes easy.

I remember that in one interview Maria said that after her 2004 Wimbledon win,
for a while she thought she will keep winning Grandslams one after other. She had
to learn it the hard way too that you have to actually work to win.

So Genie thinks her britches are too big and skips Washington. :nono Only to come into her home tournament and get biotch slapped by a virtual nobody. I guess the lesson here is no tournament is too small for your big britches... :)

I saw Shelby play in DC, she beat Alize Cornet(3rd seed) in the first round. Alize is playing Vika as I write this.

It's Ironic someone named Rogers beat Genie at Rogers Cup!

Azarenka's looking quite out of shape imo. Understandable since she hasn't played much this year but out of breath a lot and carrying a fair few extra lbs it seems.

I have seen that little dynamo Kurumi play. Makes me smile when I watch her, great to see her climb the rankings and get some deserved recognition.

Good one Kskate, being Canadian hate to see Genie go out, but it is a lesson learned. All the marketing in the world does not translate to winning on the court. Practice, practice, and then play some tournaments, do NOT sit on your laurels!:)

And now on court we have Vika playing injured 2.0. She's hobbling around like IW and won't retire. Finally, after dropping the 2nd set she calls for the trainer who comes out and wraps her left knee like a mummy. Meanwhile, Alize is cleaning her armpits. I'm not kidding about the armpits either...

Vika should retire. She can't beat Cornet with a bad foot.

I am a big Shelby fan as of today. Power and poise. She will have a good career.
