My husband will kill you if you said to him he hobbled around the golf course:) he plays off 5 by the way, like Rafa I think, though he dosent run to the next hole like Rafa does on a golf course, yes I have watched video's of him on a golf course:)
I did not mean to impugn your husband's skills on the golf course, but I couldn't resist the obvious "golf v. tennis" dig. :-)2

Whatever the length of the recovery for Roger, the essential thing he will have to do is to listen to the doctors and get back on training only when they advise him, regardless of how he will feel.
A rush to go back to court before the optimal time, could result in some serious consequences developing chronical issues.
I know he is smart and will obey the doc.

PS. I know facts from other sports with no happy ends having the same type of surgery.

Roger has played a total of 1307 matches in his career. It's unfortunate but not surprise that his body is showing sign of wear and tear. Hope he can bounce back and play normal again.

Hi TMF, welcome mate. No surprises Roger is picking up injuries... I'm surprised he's had as few as he has over the years.

Update: On Monday this week, following Novak Djokovic's lopsided win over Tommy Robredo, Novak said this in the press conf.:

“I hope he [Federer] recovers fast, because we are not used to seeing him injured. He’s very fit, and he plays very well throughout the entire year,”

Well, maybe Roger heard Novak and wanted to reassure him, because on his twitter the next day, Roger posted:

That's Federer's expert fitness trainer, Pierre Paganini receiving.

Two hours later, Roger posted:

Rarely felt so happy being back on a practice court

Oh, what a web Spiderer weaves...

Encouraging that Roger is back to training already after the knee surgery.
Shout out to Baron @britbox to update the thread title... :)

Thanks for the updates General @masterclass - have updated the thread title!

Those look like pretty big leaps from Roger. I'm guessing his team are pretty satisfied that the knee injury is behind him...

Any word if he's confirmed for Indian Wells?

No, I think Fedal has some beef with that tournament. I don't know why.

Not sure if it's the reason, but he wasn't happy in that he thought Miami was slowing down every year. He described it as green clay the last time he was there. I guess he only really like blue clay ;-):

If he's not going to IW, which starts in 2 weeks, then skipping Miami makes sense. Otherwise, it would be one HC tournament, then the whole European clay season ahead. Why do that to your recovering knee? Roger said this as per the NY Times: “As it is a long year, I don’t want to push it too hard and come back too soon.” By coming back in MC, he gets an extra month to recover and train, and he doesn't switch surfaces until Halle. That seems smart, and it doesn't have to have anything to do with liking or not liking Miami. (And btw, I think Rafa likes Miami...he has just occasionally skipped it when he's played a lot of tennis in front of it, to get ready for clay.)

Miami is a city full of people of different countries, from US, S.Americans, Europeans, Asian and many of them love tennis and with good knowledge. I'm not sure if the surface is slowing down every year or slower than IW but I think is one of the best places to play and the crowd enjoy a lot. If Roger doesn't like to play here who knows what are his reason but the 'surface' is just an excuse

Carol, no one said Roger didn't like playing in Miami. (Well, Denis did, but I think that's unfounded.) He's won it. Why should he play one HC tournament, then switch to clay, as he's coming back off of knee surgery?

I agree that he has to wait until the clay season and to be sure that he would be able to play without any risk but my point is that Denis is not the only one saying that Roger doesn't like to pay in Miami, I've read about it many times already before from others people

So is it the IMG conspiracy theory thing?
