Incomplete post. Correct second phrase is: "I injured my knee the day after the semi-finals in Australia, kicking the hell out of the couch."

Hmmm, it doesn't sound too good and sometimes the surgery is not the best choice :-(

I remember when some people thought it's hard to believe that they can get injured during the practice before to start the match or just sitting on the chair or just doing a misstep, yes, it's possible

Not to make light, but I'm sorry...this is the funniest post of the week. What the hell else was he doing the day after a loss, except traveling? Anyway, I wish him a speedy recovery. Is 4 weeks enough after meniscus repair? I guess we'll see.

That's too bad for Federer and his fans. I am also surprised that he said he injured it 1 day after his match. He is usually very careful and smart about these things. If he expects to be out only for 1 month, that must mean good news? Speedy recovery to Fed.

Reading between the lines it probably happened during the match against Nole likely closer to the end. That is something that someone could play through unlike a torn ligament in the knee. Roger wouldn't want to say it happened during the match because it might come off as an excuse and also it would look kind of embarrassing like "Djokovic worked me over so hard I tore my meniscus."

With arthroscopic surgery it is usually a faster recovery time so I wouldn't be surprised if he plays Indian Wells but also wouldn't be surprised if he misses it. Hopefully he recovers quickly and comes back strong.

It is not a invasive surgery,my husband had one and was back on the golf course in 3 weeks.

So No1e smashed Fed's knee before Rafa's, who'd ever say so?

He has never liked to play Miami and Monte Carlo, so if he doesn't come back for IW, he's be back in Madrid or Rome I guess.

I'm sorry but that has the sound of an old joke. "He played as well as he ever had." Anyone can hobble around a golf course. I'm kidding, though, it's one thing to walk onto court and another to play competitive tennis. I like Twisted's theory. Likely the injury happened during the match. Hopefully, Roger is ready to compete by IW or latest Miami. And Margaret, I do understand it's not a serious surgery. But it will require some rehab, and there will be some time lost in training.

Actually, if he has said he'd play a reduced clay schedule, does the knee change things?

If he skips IW he may want to play some more in Europe before French to get back into the form sooner, I guess. He doesn't play Miami ever since he parted ways with IMG.

You know how Rafa's knees were always vulnerable not Fed's
Um, yes, but it still doesn't explain any of that statement. Does one player really "smash" another's knees? You've been watching too much figure skating, my friend.

According to l'Equipe, he began to feel some pain when he walked in a park with his kids (one day after the semi)
