Dustin's playing well at the moment... Would be great to see him progress some. Always a top entertainer.
i know...now-commentator JAMES BLAKE Is making some great observations too.
i think he's gonna be a fine commentator.

that wind is something -- wow!! but dustin has that quick serve motion -- maybe that works better in the wind -- but bellucci broke back one ! haha. nice BIG center court!

very entertaining this game -- dustin has an unorthodox way - and likes to mix up shots -- bellucci is known for having great passing shots.

but i can't wait for ANDY to come up soon.

bellucci still bothered by that win in his serves, it seems.

Dustin is something else... I wonder if he knows himself what he's going to do... just seems to play purely on instint.

ooa

aawwww too bad -- dustin had to retire -- that must have been some nasty ankle strain...he needed 5 points to get it done...too bad...but at least he did a match somehow and it was good. but bellucci also played well towards the end. so he deserves it too.

Yep. Not good to see him go out so soon.

they're holding up the outside courts due to the big wind -- haboob --

but at least center court is on -- serena and the young aussie right now.
i hope the wind doesn't/ get worse -- and postpone andy and nole and rafa!!

olympics is like a hybrid between masters and grand slams..
6 matches? and best of 3 for the men except maybe the finals?

uh oh -- serena in trouble early. haha. gavrilova has a chance.

deuce.

how are you seeing the court speeds?
they say it is slow -- but i'm BAD at judging that from watching on tv. but it does seem slower and higher bouncing to me - like in the aussie open.

MALEK JAZIRI was something exciting today against TSONGA. jo really had to behave in order to escape that one. !

dimitrov keeps sliding, it seems -- he's in danger in his own career to become a ''former threat". as more younger ones come up..because even in this day and age when modern training and fitness methods help prolong careers --

being now - what? -- 25? or something isn't THAT much of a ''fresh face whipper-snapper" anymore...and if those aussies get their act together -- and that kyrgious gets really serious -- they could blow away dimitrov off the court.

So true, teddytennisfan. I think Dmitrov puts himself under too much pressure. He needs to go back to the drawing board and remember why he plays tennis and keep the noises of others out of his head. It's really a shame .

remmeber that other guy generation before? also moroccan like jazir
younes el aynaoui who reached the AUSSI SEMIS IN EARLY 2000'S before falling in five REALLY high quality sets to andy r roddick? and younes enjoyed a brief , brilliant , very, very popular resurgence up to the USO? and he had such a wonderful personality?

this jaziri reminds me -- in a much more 'diminutive'' game than younes -- aswell as their compatriot even earlier -- hicham arazi -- different styles but ALL very creative and even magical ...i remember john mcenroe was so taken by the styles of these guys. especially hicham that sampras himself singled out as one of the most talented in that period.

very strange how dimintrov is in such doldrums. but then MAYBE he really was overhyped

tomorrow's a really big day in the men's too WHAT WITH NUMBERS 1 AND 2 coming up. and of course nadal the other gold medalist.

Hicham Arazi and Marcelos Rios were a sight to behold on a tennis court. I've never seen such beautiful games, they were so stylish and efficient. I looked up some matches of theirs a couple of years ago and was still taken aback by their creative flair.

Dmitrov was definitely overhyped. He let them get in his head and then he couldn't back it up on court. Now he appears to be panicking.

you are very likely correct about that, Tennis Fan.
he is amazingly talented - everyone knows that -- but it seems all the hype , expectations - for so long now, really -- and then his rise really into what/ did he enter top ten, 15 at some point -- and some ''attractive' wins or challenges against the big 4 - ?

and then stumbles - and it gets all muddle up...it's like even in his mind maybe:

"where did all that LOGICAL RISE" GO? and then seeing new faces begin to pass him by -- that can play tricks on the mind too.

imo -- while he made great, great strides in those 2 or 3 years ago as a result of the focus on fitness and endurance -- with that australian guy? that was in itself NOT everything in tennis. and there was nothing more the guy could teach -- it was all about 'fitness' -

but after that -- what? where to BRING his talent to? and THAT'S where the 'hole" shows itself.

where he is now - he needs someone who can really guide him in strategies, tactics in tennis - that kind of thing -- like a REAL big time champion or TENNIS, not fitness , coach does. which the aussie guy is really more a ''tennis playing" FITNESS coach .

and dimitrov's RISE period was based on that -- fitness -- due to the coach's idea that the tennis will take care of itself or 'we'll address that later" -- but that wasn't proper, imo.

they took care of the ATHLETE -- but the TENNIS talent was left from being guided on how to make the transition from being a very talented , FIT, player TO a bigtime champ.

which is what makes NOLE, NADAL, ROGER, ANDY - and wawrinka (he's so fit too, it took him a long time -- but he became a big time champ) - different - if NOT in ''natural talent" - then in knowing how to put totgether their talent and fitness and honing their skills even more.

the beef i have with the tv coverage is -- BRAVO -- while it thankfully covers tennis. it doesn't show the other courts...it's nice to see favorites - like my serena - on centre court -- but there are alreaedy other matches happening or when they do -- the camera should also visit them...if RAFA is already playhing i wanna see him too.
