Congrats to Kei for getting the Bronze. Only three people can get a Gold. Well done to all the combatants.

I'm with you Moxie. Take a rest Rafa, that was quite a lot to put that vulnerable wrist through. I hope he rehabs until the USO.

This is so crazy. A fourteen time major champion and they treat him like dirt. I wonder why. Still don't know why he's playing Cincinnati, but I guess it's to get some court time before the USO. A decision that could backfire if it further hampers the wrist. This is the same garbage they used to do to Pete.

Rafael Nadal 'I wasn't allowed to change shorts while Nishikori had a 12 minute toilet break

Gatto Luigi - 14-08-2016

Tennis - The Spaniard speaks also about the incredible effort he made physically: 'I'm so tired'. But will play Cincinnati

http://www.tennisworldusa.org/news/news/Rafael_Nadal/35356/rafael-nadal-i-wasn-t-allowed-to-change-shorts-while-nishikori-had-a-12-minute-toilet-break-/

Rafael Nadal did not accept Kei Nishikori's behaviour between the end of the second set and the beginning of the third one. The Japonese player had a 12 minute toilet-break, an unsportmanship move according to Rafa to break his favourable momentum.

'It's not the moment to speak about it but when you comeback from 2-5 down with double break, you win the set and your opponent stays at the bathroom for 12 minutes, it's logical you are not okay with it. In Rio de Janeiro they did not allow me to change shorts that I had put around the reserve way', Nadal said referring to what happened in the ATP 250 Event on February 2015 when Bernardes, who umpire today's match, gave him a warning that created many polemics.

Anyway Rafa gave credit to his opponent: 'It did not happen anything, Nishikori played better than me. I am happy for how I played, I am satisfied for how these Games went.'

Despite it was a very demanding week for him, Rafa booked a private jet to Cincinnati that will share with Andy Murray: 'It has been a very tough week that costed me so much, I am very tired - Nadal mentioned - I spent very much energy, I did what I could do, I gave everything overcoming the limits as well, but there was nothing to do.'

I've always liked Alex Corretja. I'm glad he spoke up. The tennis community is sick. They do all this craziness and people seem to think it's OK.

Alex Corretja Two months without playing and winning medal criticism around Nadal is not understandable'

Tennis - The former world no. 2 praised Rafa's results at the Olympics

http://www.tennisworldusa.org/news/news/Rafael_Nadal/35278/alex-corretja-two-months-without-playing-and-winning-medal-criticism-around-nadal-is-not-understandable-/

Sports in general, and especially tennis, is weird and unpredictable, that's why millions of people watch it and get excited about it especially at the Olympic Games, an unique competition.

There were many, who thought a one week ago that Rafael Nadal couldn't be so competitive at the Olympics. Focused in the key moments, pumped up as his emotion and tears showed after the doubles semifinal match won with Marc Lopez.

On Twitter, Alex Corretja commented about Nada's result and said, 'Two months without playing and he's already guaranteed himself a medal with Marc Lopez, I still don't understand the criticism about Nadal! Well done guys!'

Nadal will play the quarter-finals singles match against Goffin on Friday, on the same day he will face Florin Mergea and Horia Tecau alongside Marc Lopez to win the gold medal.

12 minute toilet break? That's taking the piss... pardon the pun.

Yep, and people have been moaning about one or two seconds that Nadal takes, but won't have anything to say about this kind of blatant and unfair treatment. Why is Kei given more respect than Rafa when he's done essentially nothing in the game? Some screwed up people in this world that go along with this kind of BS.

Delpo still up a break in the second..

I'm shocked that he has maintained this, but maybe he's running on the adrenaline that he's beaten Novak and Rafa in one tournament. That's a pretty good haul as far as names go. Only thing is he'll have to get it done in four, five sets would be a disaster.

Go Andy!!!

What a match. I just called my cute mother, not usually one for tennis, and she was loyally watching, and rooting for Delpotro. However, she was rather surprised that she'd signed up for an entire afternoon and part of her evening! LOL. Great FHs in that game from Juan Martin. ¡Vamos!

I'd forgotten it was five sets at the beginning of the match.
