Kerber still has a shot if she gets a WC in a 280 tourney next week and wins it, then wins Moscow, and Caro does nothing next 2 weeks. Ana has to go to semis in Beijing to be qualified, else she also needs to play next weeks and keep ahead of Caro or Kerbie.
Now the reality is that all this has a lot of ifs in it, so I would say Kerber has like 1% chances to get there and Caro and Ana could almost celebrate already.

^ And unless Aga does a 180 in the next 2 weeks, I could see her being the annual punching bag like Kerbie was last year. I think Kerbie went 0-3.

It's different, I'll give you that. No Vika, Sara, Li or Kerbie. Last year no Maria, but this year she is there. Add in Simo & Genie as newcomers to the fold.

Good new mix of talent here. Eugenie will settle for being boring, after pocketing over $2,000.000.I would like to be boring and make that kind of chump change!

BAHAHAHA Money is such a crass topic. We prefer to keep our assessments above such petty things.

I agree it's a good new mix of talent, and throughout the year they have all played brilliant tennis, at times. But I think the bottom line is Serena v Maria in the final as they both play very focused, intense tennis, when they're on. There should be some really good tennis to watch as they all have been playing great.

And Genie can spend her chump change shopping in Shanghai! As I don't see her in the SF

There are rumors that Serena is questionable for Singapore due to injury. So,
Angelique and Makarova should continue to fight without giving up for the 9th spot.
In case Serena is forced to withdraw, it looks like Kerbie would take her slot.

p.s. Despite the rumors, I think and hope that Serena will make it.

I am curious why are Bouchard and Ivanovic are on the players list for Linz tournament?
Both ladies have made Singapore.I would think at this stage of the year, they should take some rest and prepare for Singapore.

Two of these Three team will qualify for the remaining positions in the doubles field at Singapore

Kudryavtseva/Rodionva (RUS/AUS)
Muguruza/Carla Suarez Navarro (ESP/ESP)
Hingis/Pennetta (SUI/ITA)

Kudryavtseva/Rodionva had a chance to clinch a berth at Singapore with a s/final win at Beijing on Friday, but fell short.

Therefore, the last two qualifying teams for Singapore won't be confirmed until at least next week,

Since they were not sure of making it to S'pore, they might have signed up before. Remember,
they sign up several weeks in advance. Expect them to drop off now at the last minute
(unless of course they are getting paid appearance fee).

I realize that notion,I just hope both players take the time to rest and prepare for Singapore just my thoughts.Maybe Rubydo has some insider information regarding Bouchard if she is still intent on playing at Linz.
