How do you think Djokovic's form would change post Paris? Do you think he can improve his form and make some sort of an impact at WTF?

And what about Australian Open?

Up to the FO I could depend on him at every event; taking Madrid unexpectedly by taking a last minute invitation from Tiriac himself! Djoker's been a near disaster since winning in Paris; barely making it over the finish line when he used to own the fall season! All he had to do was have ordinary results; not necessarily win, but he's been looking bad! He's having trouble with his pigeons as well as the other Big 3 with Stan and Andy! Nole has a winning record over Murray, but he hasn't been able to "get there!" I just don't know now! It seems like it makes sense that near perfection in 2015 into 2016 was going to have an adverse affect sooner or later; notwithstanding what drama is going on behind the scenes! I would think he'll make the semi's of the YEC and get knocked out! He may try to come back fresh in 2017, but recent results say he'll probably be upset early, maybe before the 4th round "down under!" It has to start happening after winning so many titles in a row! Heaven knows it hit Roger and Rafa hard as well after their near "lock" on majors and Masters when in their prime! I suppose he could be breaking down too; he's so spindly, it's almost scary! :dodgy:

Does Djokovic have an injury?

I couldn't watch that much of the match, but when I surfed by he was shaking out his arm! Since the Olympics, he obviously has taken something off his serve! Been there myself playing exactly 30 years, half the time my arm wanted to fall off! I played all the time, destroying rackets and changing style every few months! Rackets were really "clubs" with strings and a leather grip on it! I didn't go to anything special in the way of a racket to help fading confidence until '83 buying Martina's Yonex R-7! I still have it, but it didn't stop me from buying another 30 in all sorts of material! I settled on Edberg's Wilson Pro Staff in '97! My mom bought me a couple for my 40th BD! Never really had arm trouble with those sticks before retiring 5 years later! Boy am I tired; just babbling! :cover :nono :wow:

So, his right arm is not at its best thereby rendering his serving arm rather ineffective? Do we have any records of his injury. I think something came up around USO time. I dont remember correctly.

The only reason Nole made the final against Stan was due to walkovers, defaults, and opposition more wounded than him! What did he have 4 rounds of practices? :puzzled :nono :cover

So, its an injury keeping him below 100% physically. Unless, it subsides, he won't be able to produce great results. But once it does, I think he should have good times again. His fitness and agility aren't issues. His movement was good against Cilic. He was fit enough to put in a lot of balls into play appropriately. With some recovery, he should get in the frame of mind to work his way to gettimg back his rhythm and confidence.

Groups announced - no doubt Murray got the tougher draw (Stan, Kei, Marin)

I'm shocked! I expected a different breakdown; Andy ticked he took the #1 ranking just before WTF! If Nole doesn't make it through to the semi's with these also-rans in his group, he should go ahead and hang it up! :snicker

I think people don't understand how hard it is to do what Novak did from late 2014 through mid-2016. In fact, no one has done it--been that dominant over a year and a half--with the possible exception of Rod Laver way back in the 60s.

Disappointed fans need to wake up a bit. Novak is unlikely to go back to that form. What is more likely is that he finds that 2012-14 form for a couple more years, wins a few more Slams. But to expect 2015 again...well, ain't gonna happen.

Wow, that is brutal draw fro Andy. Novak got it very easy. Exhausted Thiem, Injured Milos and
Tanker Monfils in his group. After seeing the draw, I think there is a very high chance that
Nolandy would not meet in SF.

Djokovic should steam roll his group if he's back on form and Andy could still finish second in his difficult group so they could easily still meet in the SFs.

They could both wind up losing a match; esp. with the apathy of Nole's play of late! :nono :cover
