OK, my tennis channel is on the fritz again. I got the rundown on Federer/Coric a bit from the other thread. I guess this match was pretty good...anyone watch? What made the difference in the 3rd?

Sunday's a big news review day and a huge time killer for me! I surfed by the match periodically and it truly was a good one from what little I saw of it! Nole was doing his thing, running Cilic back and forth, but his opponent hung in there making some great "gets!" Djokovic usually gets very frustrated when there are these 20+ stroke rallies coming up short! It's how he's always lost finals he should have won like '15 FO & '16 USO's vs Wawrinka & the '12 USO & '16 YEC to Murray determining #1 for the season! Even the matches won by Nole over these 2 have been excruciating long and it usually happens because they match up well, dragging the matches out! It's not like Nole's playing poorly, but Stan & Andy raise their level of play to match him! All these matches, along with dealing with Fedal would have crushed anyone else, but he's trying to make a comeback! I'll take this effort any day; Cilic just won it more than likely!

Djoke had his chance to win this in straights. He was up 4-2 in the 2nd set TB. He's still not consistent on the big points yet. In the 3rd set he got broken at 4-3 after having GP's. He was deflated after that and airmailed the last game. Honestly, the end was a little anti-climatic and disappointing from the former #1.

He led 4-1 in the TB and had Championship points on Cilics serve

Obviously, I didn't see it, but based on what you say, this is where he's still falling short: the confidence on the big points, and losing steam/motivation/enthusiasm or whatever when he feels it's over.
