Barbora ZAHLAVOVA STRYCOVA lost the match against Williams after 2 h and 55 min after a wrong decision - again - by - normally - one of my favorite umpires - but today she made Venus Williams win allowing a challenge AFTER she had said the score. She did that at least twice during the third set AND it's not allowed to challenge after a result has been said. It completely ruined Barbora ZAHLAVOVA STRYCOVA's concentration and that was the reason that she lost. Well I've seen a very even match with fantastic gameplay from both players so respect to both players but again IMHO it's the wrong winner because of a bad umpire and I really hope it doesn't stop with this because WTA has to make umpires more strict.

Sounds like things got a bit heated at the net after Venus saved a match point to beat Zahlavova-Strycova 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (5).

Weird, contentious exchange at net with Beezus seething in loss.
Venus: "Is that look for something?"
Beezus: "Well done?"
Venus: "Ok, good"

I am just happy Venus is winning three setters which were her Achilles heel in the past three seasons
Go Vee!

I was watching Flipkens vs Petkovic and saw a ball clearly land out but never called. That could have given Flipkens the match. What is the story with Flipkens? She has such a great game. Should be ranked higher.

It's still a problem for her. She lost to Madison after being up big in AO and she almost gave today's match away.

I think she gets tight w/ the match on the line. She needs to keep coming forward. She might need a new coach to help her through that.

Terribly inconsistent, like most lower-ranked players.

maybe she starts thinking about all the matches she lost in three sets plus Barbora was just distracting with her silly antics .Venus and David Witt have added the slice and are keeping the ball in play for longer periods and its working. At this stage she doesnt need a new coach as long as she doesnt get fatigued during a long match like she used to do.
Madison surprised Venus thats all and Lindsay gave her all the tips on beating Vee....the way Madison played at AO15 is not sustainable :eyepop..I am not completely sold on her...just hope she is not another Sloane

I don't believe the challenge should have been allowed either, or subsequent late challenges, but, I don't agree with your assertion that the chair umpire "made her win."

We don't know what would have happen if the challenge was not allowed, if just so happened Venus made a comeback. Remember, Strycova had a match pount, so it's not like she wasn't at the finish line.

Vika's level dropped in the 2nd set which went to a t/breaker,Vika rushing her shots, unable at times to control them, especially on her fhand wing.Elina 2nd set 76(4).

We are going the distance in this match now.
