When this tournament began, I gave Maria no shot at defending her title, let alone remaining in the top 10. And lovely Lucie was 1 hold of serve away from knocking her out in the first round.

Yep me too.Sveta is one of the purest athletes on the tour.Even though she can be a Headcase at times
she has always been one of my favourite players.

I'm surprised the only time Jelena beat Maria (overall, h2h is 8-1) was on grass. Of course, they've only ever played on clay once, at last years French.
