Never mind my question. I found the answer. Llodra decided to stick around for one
more year.

Good showing by the young player, in the end. I like his attitude.

Yes, I agree. Great attitude, but he needs to improve a lot. The serve is basically all he's got.

Well, he's not just one of those serving machines, but it's hard to identify a specific weapon. And sometimes he seemed to trip over his own feet a bit, but he was playing Djokovic, who is a movement-king. We'll keep our eyes on him, anyway. He's got to jump up in the rankings after this.

As of now, he has gained 33 spots to 156, 26 better than his previous high, 182. This could still change as there are several challengers going on this week.

Hmmm, somehow I was secretly hoping the kid could hang in there. I hope he can improve further over the years, it was nice to see a fresh face. I don't recall seeing any this whole year. Except for that Russian kid.
Did you not see Pablo Carreno Busta this year? He played Roger in R1 at RG, the 22y old Spanish kid who climbed from 700+ ranking to 66 this year?
That guy you will see a lot in the coming years.

I have yet to see him, but I recall you discussing him during the Portugese ATP event if I am correct. So that makes three this year.

That's a great point above, Denisovich - we haven't seen a fresh faced youngster burst on the scene this year. Last year JJ swept us away at this very event, but this year nobody has shown their credentials, which is interesting because sooner or later somebody's gonna have to make a move...

Correct, he is the one. He was ranked 250, when he got into the SF in Portugal, defeating Benneteau, Goffin and Fognini, then losing to Stan. Earlier he upset Andujar in Casablanca. He returned to the challenger tour after than, continuing playing on clay mainly and building up his ranking more.
He started only in Asia to play on hard on the main ATP tour, so far the highest ranked player he was able to beat on hard is Bogomolov (69). I think he could be a very strong clay courter specialist, how he manages to get better on HC will be interesting to see.

What do you call "scene" Top 20? Top50? In Top 100 thee are new faces every year, but they do not become threats.
I tell you one thing:
DO NOT EXPECT TEENAGERS PHENOMS ANYTIME SOON.
They just do not turn pros early enough these days. Herbert who played Novak last night turned pro when he was 19. The first time you hear about him is 3 years after that. This way it will just not going to happen.

I don't necessarily mean ranking, but an explosive arrival that's akin to a declaration of intent, like JJ last year, which he backed up this year partially, with his Wimbledon semi placing...

Isner hasn't looked too convincing since Cinci, has he?

Sorry Front. That sucks. Anyway, Simon wins the all French battle in 3rd set breaker 7-3.

Stan the man goes through, keeping the hope alive for London. Little let down in the second set but he was solid in the third.

Almagro wins but now officially eliminated because of Stan's win...and they will face each other, which is kind of ironic.

I see Cilic is back on court. I wonder what sort of reception he faced...

Delpo gets the first against Cilic, it is 2-2 in the second.

The court looks much slower compared to Basel last week, but it could be the camera angle as well. I do recall reading somewhere that they have changed the surface compound for Paris recently though...to slow it down a tad.

Is stan pretty much in since tsonga lost, barring Milos winning the tournament?
