I think Djokovic would be embarrassed to come back to Australia after everything he did. If he had collaborated with authorities and left peacefully like the other players it would be one thing, but the way he insisted on staying and dragged the whole thing by fighting them in court despite the federal government telling him No many times? Truly embarrassing.

As I said before, It's like someone is invited to your house, then you change your mind and ask them politely to leave because there was a misunderstanding, but the visitor insists by saying "NO you invited me so I have the right to stay and I am refusing to leave."

Probably his lawyers advised him to fight because despite knowing that it would damage his reputation and that he would lose the case anyways, they figured they would be paid very well and get rich off of him.

I did poise the question on this post the other day in regards to Novak and his loss of sponsorship due to his deportation from Australia.,

This is an athlete contract termination clause....

"If at any time,in the opinion of Sponsor,Athlete becomes the subject of public dispute, contempt or scandal, that affects image or goodwill, then Company may, upon written notice to Athlete, immediately suspend or terminate this Agreement and Athletes's services hereunder,in addition to any other rights and remedies that Sponsor may have hereunder or at law or in equity".

More and more defending djokovic. Australia basically lured him into the country to then annoint him anti-vax leader, to then deport him to come across as strong, deflect from the utter failures from this totalitarian regime.

UNITED NATIONS, January 16. /TASS/. Russia’s First Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dmitry Polyansky has slammed as "shameful" the decision to ban Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic from taking part in the 2022 Australian Open tennis tournament.

"What a shameful decision to ban Novak Djokovic @DjokerNole from AustralianOpen2022! Politics should not interfere in sport. I wish Novak new victories, Australian public is the clear loser in this row which overshadows the competition itself," he wrote on his Twitter account on Sunday.

And your country should be banned everywhere, not allowed to compete in olympics, ousted from international organizations etc.. for this abusive and disgraceful handling of djokovic. They lured him in to set him up to be a political pawn, even making him out to be leader or anti-vaxxers and threat to public order. Why? Cause they have failed as a government and need to save face, elections around the corner. Shame on australians..

All the players knew months ago that the Australia Government said that only VACCINATED people would take part of it. Many players got vaccinated in order to be able to play. Tennis Australia also knew it as the Federal Government had advised them with 2 letters. Then Tennis Australia, Victorian Government and Djokovic tried a different way of getting in with the conveniently timed PCR test by Djokovic and it BLEW IN THEIR FACES! He could have simply accepted what the Australian Government was tell him and leave, but he insisted on staying and he humiliated himself in the process.

Tell me, what was Djokovic's plan on the 15th december (before the PCR test of the 16th) when it came to the ATP Cup and AO, was he planning to skip them? Clearly he doesn't want to be vaccinated and clearly he doesn't have a health issue that prevents him from getting the vaccine, so all of a sudden by miracle a PCR test comes in and he tries to get in Australia with it? He's not fooling anyone with this "coincidence".

Either he faked the PCR test OR he actually got Covid and still went to events and put people at risk! He looks bad EITHER WAY and he got punished by the wonderful country AUSTRALIA that I will be visiting in the future for sure!!!!

MikeOne,

BUTTON It!

You’re whinning like a 8 year old with his fingers in his ears, running around shouting “LA LA LA LA LA” and exhibiting some of the most juvenile behaviour I’ve ever witnessed from an adult on this board.

Actually, the above is pretty juvenile, it’s how children argue..

so many here are tearing into djokovic as if he were a killer but when anyone goes after australia.. oh no, can’t do that.

this is like children going on djoker hating rants and calling out the adults because adults disagree..advise to you is act like an adult first before you claim to be one

Even your Novak DJOKOVIC was quoted two days ago - “I’d like to make a brief statement to address the outcomes of today’s Court hearing. I will now be taking some time to rest and to recuperate, before making any further comments beyond this,” Djokovic said. “I am extremely disappointed with the ruling to dismiss my application for judicial review of the decision to cancel my visa, which means I cannot stay in Australia and participate in the Australian Open. I respect the Court’s ruling and I’ll cooperate with the relevant authorities in relation to my departure from Australia” -

It's a shame that his fans cannot be as dignified until their idol put's out a further statement regarding this whole debacle and hear what he says there and then. And that’s saying something about ND fans who persist like little children.

All wrong above but you just like to ignore facts.

yes Djokovic knew australia had vaccine mandates and this is why he openly told tennis australia what his position was. He wasn’t hiding anything. Tennis austrlia and victorian government should know the federal mandates much more than djokovic so why would djokovic question them? They cleared him, they provided exemption and TA excitedly and publicly announced it before djokovic flew in. So why did they f up so bad? They didn’t know the federal regulations???? Victirian government and tennis australia??? But djokovic should’ve?

and btw, why didn’t federeal government, after it was publicly announced, tell TA, victorian government and djokovic that nole couldn’t come in? It was public news. So they wait for him to fly in, make an international scene, PM is on tv as soon as djoker gets detained.

This sounds like a setup and hard to comprehend.. a total f up yet you, as a rafa fan, don’t care and can’t be impartial here, you just thinking of djokovic and his possibility of 21. You know it, i know it.

but to crush your arguments even further, the government admitted exemption was valid after a judge sided with novak. Then, they changed tune and claimed novak had to be deported as he was now viewed as a leader of anti-vaxxers and threatenes civil unrest. That’s just quite something…. So they annoint novak anti-vax leader (not novak), they create the unrest by originally cancelling his visa (later they admitted was wrong to do so) and then they have to deport him for mess they created.

and your accusations regarding pcr result are just that, accusations… you know accusations by rafa fanatics are far from facts pal

The problem with arguing with rafa and fed fanatics is that no facts will ever be good enough, you all are defending the incredulous actions by australia authorities and just for one reason - stop novak from cementing himself as goat… if novak would be shot dead today, you rafa fans would probably be happy… that’s why arguing with you is a waste of time, you are unwilling to see any wrongdoing by australia, ignoring facts and just all over the place..

It’s a shame many djoker haters are unwilling to see there is blame to go around and happy this happened. Cheering it on and making one of our greatest champions out to be some bad individual.
Australia did many things wrong, from failing to coordinate amongst authorities, cancelling his visa originally without due process (overturned by judge) and then admitting it, then deporting him claiming one of our greatest champions was some anti-vax leader and a threat to public order.

yet all you just want everyone to agree all of the above never happened and angrily go after anyone who defends djokovic

and this is much bigger than djokovic, this is about governments, politics, covid… djokivic was caught in the middle of messy politics and used as a political pawn. You don’t get to tell anyone to stop debating, you can just drop off and remain silent if you don’t like arguments you don’t agree with.

Actually i do not disagree on some of your comments. I'm no fan but i'm not a ND hater, either. But of late, you been whinning on and on about it like some spoiled child who's been told by mommy he would not be getting his new toy.
As i said, why can't ND fans wait until their idol has written and released his new statement. There's always two sides to any issue so it would be interesting to hear from him again after he's resting.

I agree. No matter how much the matter has been debated, and with reasoned arguments, Mike ignores them and just keeps shouting louder and louder his disagreement. He doesn't even debate points, when they counter his, he just moves on and keeps shouting.

So the FO is going to stand on vaccine mandates, and last I heard the Italians, too, for Rome. The US won't be easy to get into. So the question becomes: how long does Novak put his career on hold for his stance on not getting vaccinated? We know he has strong feelings about natural healing. If you have been following him, you know that he was really broken-hearted to have to have surgery on his elbow, rather than heal it via rehab. But he did, finally, give in to surgery, for the sake of his career. Is it not the same to give in and get vaccinated, for the sake of his career?

He doesn’t need to be vaccinated he just needs to say that he has decided to get vaccinated and then get his hand on a fake vaccine passport. Sadly this is what’s going to happen. He couldn’t get a fake vaccine passport before because people knew that he was anti-vaccine. So he tried to get by with some excemptions like a pcr test and failed so now he won’t have a choice. All he needs to say is that after a lot of thought and after the Australia fiasco he has decided to take the vaccine and then everyone will believe his passport and that he truly got the jab.

Our friend @El Dude suggested this option back in December. I think @Sundaymorningguy said it earlier, though, the legal ramifications, if he were found out would be huge, not even considering the ethical ones.

It would be something very hard to prove especially with the Serbian government 100% protecting him. I'm someone who believes that the PCR test was fake as the timing was too convenient being that it was his only way to try to get in the AO. But we will never find out. IMO if he gets a vaccine passport I will have zero trust that it's legit. But oh well...

What matters now is for Nadal to have great results. He is the only Big 3 member present at the AO with a chance for #21 and then the next slam is the FO. So he is in a great position right now for the slam race. Also he's only 1 Masters 1000 title behind Djokovic. So this year he can make a big move on those 2 records. I hope he will have a healthy and successful 2022.
