Oh wow - Kieran is back. That's amazing.
And Jimmy! How are you keeping, brother?

I came when they offered me enough money and not before!
But I’ll be vanishing soon, I don’t post during slams but I’m also falling behind on a few of my other things. Good to see ya! :bye:

On what grounds would Novak sue them? I think he’ll be relieved if they don’t probe further..

It should have been stated from last November that all players coming to the AO 2022 have to be double vaccinated and no medical exemptions allowed.,from Tennis Australia.Coming into Australia having COVID in the last six months is not a sufficient reason to enter Australia

The problem is "they didn't" make it clear! The policy was all over the place from the Province to the country with Tennis Australia floundering!

he wrote for the way they treated him, I think if they throw him out he will go all the way, and some politicians can answer uncomfortable questions from taxpayers
I don’t think he was treated unfairly. If they chuck him out he might try his luck with a lawsuit, but so far his luck is holding, he probably shouldn’t push it. I have a feeling that something dramatic might happen later on today…

She has left the country her visa has been cancelled.
She just didn't fight it! Renata wasn't winning anything anyway! No big loss! This is the men's #1 player in the world going for glory alone at 21! I think AO would be lucky to only get sued! This has turned into an international mess that could have been avoided! It's sad and pathetic for this to be happening after all this time seeing it coming! The battlelines were drawn weeks & months ago! Djokovic 1, Aussie Fed. 0....so far anyway!

Correct me if i'm mistaken, but isnt there a ATP law that Djokovic, the defending champion, would have been fined if he missed any of the tournaments with out a good reason. Or does it exist just for ATP tour, not the Slams?

AS a senior player with tons of matches played and years on the tour, he can enter or not participate in any tournament! He barely played last season skipping several Masters events! It's all about the majors now and I don't blame him! Fedal have been playing this game for years; showing up when they liked! :pleading-face: :fearful-face: :facepalm:

he was at least not treated properly, imo he will not push it if they keep quit, otherwise they risk more negative PR, long proceedings and higher costs
his lawyers seem to do their job very well, his comment after release was quiet and thoughtful I think that indicates he wants to play first and foremost and not escalate, the government would be well advised to do the same

This is what I don’t understand - not treated properly in what way? That he was treated like other people are treated, with regards to housing? Or the interview by border patrol?

I guess they mean stuff like border patrol questioned him too long and inadequately (8h? what for), put pressure on him ….

Another antiNo1e fan.

No1e has already won a huge victory, you know, ѕo big that nothing can confuse his vinning anymore.

I can’t see he’d sue for that, though you never can tell. But the bloke saved championship points in a Wimbledon final against Federer, I’m sure he can handle pressure. Thing is though, you might be right. Who knows the mind of people like Djoker? He’s fairly ruthless, and it wouldn’t surprise me if he waited until they dropped all investigations - then played a victim card. He won’t do anything before then though, in case it provoked them..

Nadal said the court had decided in favour of Novak and that now he should be allowed to play, joked at the end that he would have preferred to see Novak not playing :face-with-tears-of-joy:
I’d say so too, but Rafa looks relaxed, which is already an improvement on the past few years, even though his game is way the pace. They’ll prolly all be like that now, though..
