#Modernaopen :lol6:The Novax Djocovid fans (I got that name from a journalist from Brazil) are in full USO boycott mode. How about if they want someone to blame they look at Novak :fearful-face::joker:
Remember Stacy Mc Allister is also a full time criminal because she is on the board of the Laver Cup...........LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
According to Novak's fans:)

Did you miss the part where I said that there really AREN'T any other players that aren't vaccinated?
Nope, I didn't. I just didn't think it mattered to the hypothetical, which wasn't hugely important to the point anyway, which was that it would be in the interests of the USO to have insisted that players present their bona fides before the draw, which I think we all agreed about when I said it a few days ago, it seems. The hypothetical was just an example of something that could possibly happen and they'd have a safeguard against it, so it doesn't screw up the draw.

There are other players who are unvaccinated, by the way...

He should use that sensible part of his brain to stick to his principles
Well, on this occasion he has, but I think we should look at it from his angle and see that he's a competitor, an apex predator in the tennis field and he wants to take part so much that he's desperately hoping things will fall his way. We all know how insane he was in Australia, how driven demented by ambition he was, and he's not going to change. But this time at least he did things the proper way, which is good for him and the sport....

In regards to Novak getting a new viisa and how long it takes, it is complicated, if it was character related,it did seem that he got deported because of his anti vaccine stance, especially at the time as Melbourne was just out of a heavy lockdown due to Covid. His new application would have to go to the Minster of Immigration, or someone in his office that has the power to issue him a new one or revoke it again, it does not say anything about the time factor, I would suggest Novak applies for a new visa ASAP
If it was just straight forward case to get a new visa it could take a few days, that is with no complications.

While he behaved better then Australia. He has still not done himself any favours, by posting on social media he is preparing as if he was going to play. Waiting for the phone to ring with good news. Getting his coach to whine to tennis media how unfair it is etc. Sure keep practising & prepare just in case things work out always better to be prepared. But he knew realistically he would be unable to play. Again he never accepted the consequences of not getting the vaccine. Getting his fans to sign the petition, write to Biden etc. He would look a lot better withdrawing from the tournaments earlier & if the law changed sign up to play them. Things like his bromance date with Kygrios lets have dinner in NY. Singing the New York song on YouTube his cockiness & entitlement is embarrassing thinking the law can change so he can play tennis...

I agree, largely, but I don't see any of that as a problem. People were gonna whine anyway, no matter what he did, and putting pressure on politicians? The same politicians will ditch this law eventually anyway, sure as it rains in Ireland on a Tuesday. Soon as it suits them politically, this law is gone. I believe he was right to say he's practising, just in case he's allowed in. I don't see any harm there, or in any of it, actually. It's small fry stuff, blown out of proportion by both sides, by social media, and made even worse by useful idiots like McEnroe...

Not in the top 100, which is what I said initially, amongst men, anyway. Tennys Sandgren, ranked in the mid-300s, and Pierre-Hugues Herbert, ranked in the 200s (though 28 in doubles). Who else have you got? You could go ahead and throw in women...I'm interested I just haven't much looked into it.

By him posting to social media he knows exactly what he's doing. He awakens the cult to go into full victim mode, we get all this BS about discrimination & injustice & corruption etc. His keyboards warrior fans always take it too far start harassing people it's stupid.

I’m not sure what we’re arguing now, The hypothetical? That isn’t important to the point I made, which I think you agree with, which is that the tournament ought to have safeguards now because entering the country isn’t so straightforward. Australia could have had this in January too, so the draw isn’t affected by players not showing up. I probably could have used other hypotheticals but similarly, if they don’t work, they also don’t affect the point being made, which is a simple one.

As for players being vaccinated now, or unvaccinated, as long as these laws are in place it’s irrelevant how many there are, or where they’re ranked. Coric was ranked where after Wimbledon? And he’s seeded now in the Open. The principle however is something we agreed on a few days ago. Or was it this morning? Or yesterday?

I lose track of time :lulz1:

Most Djokovic fans are Serbians who don’t know much about tennis. We have on this forum exceptions such as @Fiero425 and @don_fabio and others. But on social media, you know yourself, it’s an insane asylum. A loony bin. Keyboard warriors indeed…

You know what gives me the Sh its with these anti vaxers, they say it is medical science we dont know what is going into our bodies I am healthy I don't need it?

I have been working in ICU with Covid Patients for 3 years, most of my patients have been in 30 to 40 age group with no underlying medical issues, refused to take the vaccine, okay as a Medical Proffessional I have to respect their choices.Still the amount of patients I have had, have been vaccinated.Of course being vaccinated dosent mean you wont get COVID, though it wont be as bad, and no it is not like the flu.We have now got long Covid clinic's in Sydney for COVID patients who after 3 years, have still not recovered, most of them have not been vaccinated.
When I do have to work in ICU to this day which still haunts me is my 8 year old patient, a boy, who contracted COVID, I held his hand as he passed away, as his parents weren't allowed into ICU because of the COVID restrictions.

:face-with-tears-of-joy: It's been the summer for that. But hey, it's summer!

Now, you say you know who's unvaccinated, but you have no names.

I was the one that said you were arguing a hypothetical, and I wasn't. I haven't actually made any hypothetical arguments on here that I can think of. Someone suggested there should be a deadline for withdrawal, and Tented showed us that there is. You suggested maybe tournaments need to check out the status of players' visas, but I still think mostly that takes care of itself. You keep trying make this a general problem, and I keep trying to say it's not really a tennis problem. IMO, it's a Djokovic problem.

I wasn’t arguing a hypothetical, I used a hypothetical that isn’t impossible, to make a point that we both agreed on. And as for making it a general problem, I’m saying it’s a problem that could arise again un-Djokovic related, in other circumstances, and now we know this, there’s a simple remedy. We live now in a different world, slams are affected by plague and war, and now things like monkey pox, well they’re rolling out vaccines for this one too.

It’s not a Djokovic problem, because he’s withdrew in time. He caused a lot of you to panic, but it seems that in this I was right. But - going forward, in case this becomes a seasonal issue, the tournaments would do well to issue clear guidance to the players before the draw takes place…

A lot of his most vocal twitter fans are not Serbian :astonished-face:
Really? The ones I notice most on Facebook have Serb flags and Serb names in their profiles. But yeah, he’s popular outside Serbia too. As Margaret pointed out, Don Fabio is Croat, and a great interesting poster too…
