One of Sasha's main problems has been 'focus' in matches, though he seems to be 'tuned in' so far in this match, quite frankly he knows he has to get the win over Novak. It's come down to nerves and Sascha's has held up well so far! I'm impressed! Not sure how motivated Djokovic can be to fight just for the privilege to allow Medvedev to take him to the limit! It w/b just to match Fed's record of 6 YEC's! Nole might allow Roger that bone from what I've seen of the match!

I think we have been 'spoilt' by the Big 3 over the years, and expect these players like Medvedev,Zverev and The Young Greek to be able to play at a high level, and break through winning GS and Masters events, all players develop at their own pace, others not at all, lets see how those players develop in 2022 and win a major.( Medvedev did win the USO in great style this year).Focus and what I've been nagging about for years, "the will to finish off the elites!" That's been the saving grace of the Big 3 gobbling up all the events under their resumes! Too often when ahead, some players find a way to lose a crucial match against them! Obviously not so much now, but %'s been in good stead for them for almost 2 decades and only lately break-throughs with the NG'rs! I didn't sweat Novak going down to Stefanos in the FO final even when 0-2 in sets! Med is the only one who doesn't seem to quiver at facing Novak! It was quite surprising Med got served and volleyed off the court in Paris a couple weeks ago! SURPRISE!
Sloppy footwork from Novak there,as Sasha brokeFirst blood to Sasha, and he consolidates the break.
Sloppy footwork from Novak there as Sasha broke.
Have you got your glasses on btw,I have it was 'sloppy footwork' from Novak the reason Sasha broke. We look for reasons why an error, but most of the time Novak can depend on an incompetent miss by his opponent! Sascha's supposedly "pushing" the ball! Are we to see another one of those classic "choke jobs" up a break or 2 and serving for it?
If he stuffs this up he can go back to challengers in my book5-3, Zverev serves for it. Can he stand the pressure?
Luckily, he didn't.If he stuffs this up he can go back to challengers in my book
