Looking at this year, the 3 best players will join the SF of this tournament.
I don’t believe the outcome would be different with other opponents.

Sinner broken first up..Medvy showing him he could be tougher than Hurkacz.

As good as Daniil has shown himself to be, it's still one of those ugly games with skinny limbs flailing about that I don't like to see! With both men and women looking to just take the cover off the ball with power, all tennis will be just about unwatchable soon! :anxious-face-with-sweat::shushing-face::astonished-face::angry-face:

Not very entertaining! Sinner's a very solid player, but he doesn't have enough weapons to defeat the elites; hence his top 10 wins at the bottom!
Give him time,he has a lot of upside to his game, though he does have to improve his skills on grass.

Jannik wins the 2nd set 76(5) probably gave Meddy the first set to force him into a 'false sense of security" even though it was a bagel:)...needs to keep his transition to the net like in the t/break,though on the right ball

This is absolutely obscene Med allowing this match to go the distance! He just started making UFE's, but survives Sinner's 1st & 2nd MP's! :face-with-hand-over-mouth:

Even though it was a dead rubber, good match between Jannik and Medday, particularly after the bagel 1st set
Proud of Jannik!....crowd loved it too.
Meddy wins 60 67(5) 76(8)

Alas, Jannik lost. But what a match. He's really entering the inner circle.

Let's not go nuts here! That spindly little body will have to gain a lot more muscle to continue his march onward and up the ranks! He's getting off to a bad start with overpumping of himself when winning a point! That might work for a little while, but I can see a crash! I still say he needs some real weapons! It got to be a little obnoxious applauding UFE's by Med! :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :lol6: :-)2 :face-with-tears-of-joy:

Novak is cruising so far. 6:2 first set.

Might have been a different and terribly tough night match if Stefanos was able to hold up and play! Nole had an easy group, but SF w/b tough regardless of who won the opposing group with Med and Zed leading the way! Lucky for Novak he's already secured his 7th YE #1 crown/trophy! Sampras gave up the record and the GOAT Title to Djokovic! :shushing-face: :face-with-hand-over-mouth::lol6::face-with-tears-of-joy::laugh:

Come, now. Two things: One, he's 20 years old - not 23 or even 22, an age when we can get a better sense of a player's ultimate upside. Two, he's in the top 10. You don't get to the top 10 on a limp-dick game, at least not at 20 years old. Meaning, he's not Borna Coric, who was stalled out in the 50th range at this age, and only briefly jumped up in to the top 20 before falling back again.

Jannik will improve. How much remains to be seen, but he's clearly on the cusp of entering the elite. And by "elite" I don't mean Big Three, but Medvedev, Zverev, and Tsitsipas. I think by this time next year, he'll be firmly in that group, and ahead of the second tier pack of Rublev, Hurkacz, Berretini, etc.

Looks like the bear will be the first Finalist as expected.
Combination is the same as in NY, faster surface favours Daniil and Saša.
Could become Daniils 2nd YEC.
