Like I said before the tournament the biggest priority to me is to get that 5th year-end no.1 and those extra weeks at no.1. This has been accomplished. :yahoo:

That being said I’d love to see Nadal continue winning his matches and even win the tournament but I’m already satisfied it has been an amazing year.
Don’t want to see him win this, at least once in his life??

Sure just like you guys want to see Federer and Djokovic win the Olympics next year, but all I care for is the slam race and he’s in a great position for that. Also him passing the 200 weeks mark and 5th YE1 is excellent especially since he didn’t play much after the USO with his marriage, injury in Bercy, not to mention all his injuries throughout his career. But to me winning the AO or RG is like 100 times better than WTF so it is what it is! But don’t get me wrong it would be great though just like the m1000 wins!

200 weeks when one has over 300??
He isn’t good enough to win this, otherwise he had just once! Legit conclusion?
And I got it, everything he didn’t won or just few times, or negative h2h isn’t important. Just his good records. That’s logical!

So many UFEs from Rafa today. Sure, Tsitsipas is playing well, but Rafa is below average.

Tsitsipas hadn’t been broken all tournament until now? Impressive.
He's the youngest one, too. Playing great. If it weren't Rafa, I'd be rooting for him today.

You know before this year you people were bragging about how he can’t defend a non-clay tournament (so he shut you all up by defending Canada), how he isn’t great outside RG (so he shut you all up by winning a 4th U.S. Open), how he isn’t great at no.1 career wise but more as a no.2 (so he shut you all up by passing the 200 weeks mark and a 5th YE1), how he is still far from the slam record (so he shut you all up by moving from 17-20 to 19-20)... So yeah I’d love him to win the WTF so that he shuts you all up again... But I know that even if he did you guys will brag about something else... :cuckoo:

He accomplished a lot, ye no 1 is great , he get it even with poor play.
But 200 weeks mark to call great , when the record holder is that far away, sounds ridiculous .
That’s all I’m saying.

My Lord , Rafa still plays like someone's trying to steal food from his family's table. Don't you just love the way he competes when he is healthy..The ultimate warrior.
Kudos to this spirit.
But the way he acts, the tics and everything, it’s so hard to watch for me. His fists when opponent makes easy errors and ......
When I watch him playing it always looks like hard work, nothing to root for. At least for me.

First of all he isn’t stopping at only 200 weeks he will pass that easily and add many weeks. Second of all considering Federer’s luck by playing most of his career with no injuries while Nadal barely playing full seasons throughout his career in his prime, it’s actually a miracle. If Nadal had the luxury of not having so many setbacks while Federer had so many injuries and missed months like Nadal, Nadal would lead 400 to 100 by now. But despite it all Nadal will still get around at least 250 which will be close enough to Fed/Sampras/Djoko.

Did you see the post on the Rafa thread? Connors says: Rafa plays like he's broke.

Tsitsipas with another wardrobe malfunction. How can he have so much trouble with his shoes?

Why you call it luck Federer being less injured? You can not imagine Nadals injuries have something to do with his playstyle?
That’s his very successful mix, physical play /inhuman endurance, price is more injuries.

He could ask bull, remember his act against Roger in Wimbledon SF? Think it’s Greek tactic.

Many players who are servebots get injured while many players who are grinders don’t get injured, it has nothing to do with the style of play but it’s luck. Sometimes you can twist your ankle, sometimes you get injured while giving your kids a bath, right?

Anyways it’s great to see RAFA play great like this despite it being his worst surface, I can’t wait for the 2020 slam season. :good:
