You could have been a real gentleman and stress how silly my pick was.
It wasn't a silly pick by any means. Denver was the bookies favorite to win as most people consider them the best team in the league. The thing is, even the best team in the league usually still has road games that they probably are/should be underdogs.
Picking New England is also based on history, Belichick's defenses have caused Manning more trouble than any other and there is a reason AP calls them the Evil Empire. The Pats refuse to go away. They are the NFL's version of the Spurs, spitting image just a different sport, but I hate New England and like the Spurs. I've been waiting for their demise for many years...clearly still waiting.
Billie, Here is a stat for you and an "expert" anaylsis, If the Patriots are playing against an AFC team in Foxboro, Bet the house or go all in , the Patriots have won 34 in a row. That's astounding!!
Had no idea about that stat myself. From memory I'm thinking their last 2 home losses were to your 49ers and the Giants (call them the ultimate thorn to Belichick and his death star). They had a big home win streak before the 2011 Giants game so that 34 game streak makes sense. It would be regular season only since the Jets took them out in glorious fashion in the 2010 playoffs. That streak is nuts.

While I wasn't sure of the exact numbers, I know it's virtually improbable to beat Brady in FoxB, aside from the instances you mention above. I even reference that in my picks the last few weeks. There was not a chance the Bears were getting it done. I believe it was last year, but Peyton had a really good chance to defeat Brady in FoxB and was actually leading for a large portion of that game only to see Brady march down the field time after time in the 2nd half to defeat the Broncos.
