Every GM in the league should hate Flacco and Baltimore. After Flacco played a great 4 games to help Baltimore win the SB they were forced to shell out huge $$ to what is a barely above average QB. After that you have comparable players like Cutler and Romo getting a big pay day.

Rodgers has been amazing but that is expected. I could tell people were reading too much into his play earlier. After 3 games he was a bit off but still had 5 TD's, 1 interception and an average YPA. Now after firing him up it is a ridiculous 18/1 with the completion % and YPA quickly rising. The only real poor start to a year he had was 2012. He was noticeably struggling through 5 games with GB at 2-3 and there were reports around here during that preseason that he didn't seem to be what he usually is. That was the only time I've been worried about his play.

I have to admit that Peyton, like many aging sporting legends, has really grown on me the past few years. He has always been a great player but to do what he's done after being sidelined a full year with all the neck surgeries is beyond words. And the guy is pretty darn classy as well, he was a bit of a whiner in his younger years but I think he has outgrown that. It is incredible how well he is playing.

And Denver is looking like SB favorites already (this time to win) but it's early. For GB they have a chance to make it a great 1st half of the season if they win in New Orleans. Coming into the year I'd be thrilled with 6-2 given their schedule. 5-3 was the expectation so we will see if they exceed it. If the NFC ended today I'd still be looking good with my pick of GB making the Super Bowl. I think it is still the 49ers and Hawks that they really have to worry about.

Nah.. it wasnt Flacco fault.. its the owner for the Ravens that game that fool all that money for being just a lousy QB.. they could have let that fool walk.. noone would have paid him half that amount. I see you still dont believe in the Cowpokes.. me neither however they are playing well.. I will give them that.. We shall see in late November and December if the Hawks and the Niners will live up to their reputations .. I think they will. I am not worried.

The thing with SF and Seattle is that they still play each other twice. If either of those teams gets swept they are probably not making the playoffs as that'd already put them at 5 losses. You are seeing the best of Dallas right now, Romo is playing as well as he can and they are running Murray into the ground in his career season. They'll still finish 11-5 or 12-4 at best. If it comes down to a big game with A-Rod vs. Romo well...you know the drill.

Baltimore's hands were kind of tied. You have this somewhat young QB go on a tear and win you a Super Bowl. Letting him walk would be unprecedented. They were always going to have to badly overpay for him but it was even more than one would expect.

I think 11-5 will still get a team in the playoffs, it may be 3,teams from the NFC west because Philly is gonna loose a few and so will the boys. Yeah, I know you would like to have It come down to A rod vs Romo . I think Murray be a load for the Pack to stop the run..btw, how is b"Blood Lines" Matthews doing year, I haven't heard his name mentioned to much

11-5 definitely gets in but if one of Seattle or San Fran gets swept they might have to win the rest of their games (all 7 for San Fran and 8 in Seattle's case) as 10-6 might not get in.

Murray is a beast but this is a QB's league, only thing that counteracts that is a great defense (see San Fran and Seattle). Matthews started slow and was banged up for a couple games. He has looked good the past couple weeks now. Peppers has also been very good so far.

That is an excellent point. Baltimore's playoff run had much more to do with Boldin than it did Flacco, and they traded Boldin away for hardly anything while keeping Flacco with an utterly oversized contract.

Onto week 8:

Chargers @ Broncos (Thursday) - Another big test for Denver's new defense. Regardless I can't see Denver losing this.

Lions - Falcons (London) - With or without Megatron, Detroit should win on a neutral field. And I think the Tron will be back.

Rams @ Chiefs - Chiefs
Texans @ Titans - Texans
Vikes @ Bucs - Tampa
Seattle @ Carolina - Seattle
Ravens @ Bengals - Game of the week, I will pick Baltimore to continue its run. Green might be back but could be limited.

Dolphins @ Jags - Dolphins
Bears @ Pats - Upset alert here. Chicago will be desperate and ticked off. I think they surprise people and win it.

Bills @ Jets - Jets
Eagles @ Cards - Another good one, I will take Arizona
Raiders @ Browns - Browns
Cols @ Steelers - Huge game for Pitt here. If they win then they have a good chance at a playoff push yet. But Indy is strong right now, taking the Colts

Packers @ Saints - If Graham was fully healthy this would be really tight to call. Graham is still likely to be limited. The only thing that scares me, which I've harped on a lot this year, is that New Orleans is very desperate. They are also a different team at home but this year they've been bad everywhere as they barely pulled out home wins vs. poor teams. This is a game GB should win and I think they will. It could be high scoring but Brees is way more likely to cough up the ball than Rodgers.

Washington @ Dallas - one of the only easy ones, Dallas.

Dolphins @ Jags - Dolphins
Bears @ Pats - Bears(yeah, Darth.. you got this on pegged correctly.. the Bears are in dire straits
Bills @ Jets - Jets
Eagles @ Cards -Cards
Raiders @ Browns - Browns
Cols @ Steelers - Indy( i may change my mind on this one)
Packers @ Saints - Saints Good write up.. I am surprised that Darth is sticking with his team this week.. this is definitely a trap game
Washington @ Dallas - Dallas. However.. I got a feeling this is the one where Dallas starts to drift back to Earth.. If God help us all.. all these Cowboys fans will come from hiding

GB is better than the Saints top to bottom at this point with the exception of Graham, and Rodgers' dome numbers are out of this world. The desperation is why I think it could be close and/or go New Orleans way. So if GB starts well as they have the past few weeks this one should go their way. One of those games where they will have to weather the storm early.

Nice last week for me:D

I didn't have time to look at the schedule for this week, I will pick Broncos for Thursday's game and hopefully I will have more time to pick the rest of them before Sunday.

Great week indeed. You're becoming something of a Pick'em shark.

I have the games listed for this week a couple posts above this.

It's still a beginner's luck, Darth, nothing more. I do admit to watching regular football season more this time around.:)

Denver definitely looks like the team to beat in the NFL this year. The defense is much improved with the big names they brought in. There have been numerous occasions in prior years where teams bring in many new players on defense and it ends up having a negative effect (Philly is a prime example). Clearly not the case with Denver this year.

Yes, yes, it is about time for this beginner's luck to run out. I see you are betting against my team, following AP's lead. All I will say is New Orleans has not played a good game all year. After 6 bad games I'm not expecting a big time performance from them. Time for me to pick up games and assume my rightful spot
