Yeah, but sometimes some results are depending of certain circustances and how the players around are playing.....and anyway we should wait for the time that some of these players (Roger, Novak, Nadal, etc) decide to retire, the age and the total results.

It's not because of Fear but a lack of confidence. Rafa doesn't have his quickness, speed , or his killer fh. Until he regains confidence in those 3 parts of his game, he may continue to struggle, IMO
Lack of confidence=Fear, and cause fear.

A supremely confident player has no fear.

But wait......since when Rafa has had fear? since he was very young always was enough brave to play against anyone including the "supposed" GOAT. I don't see any fear on him but another priorities and distractions and therefore a silly and deep confusion

What are his other priorities? Trying to solve world hunger problem?

Nah, it's ridding himself of the itchy arse. Priority number one and opponents' priorities should be making sure they pay attention to which hand they shake after matches with him :s

Rafa has ALWAYS had fear..he details staying up at night worrying he might lose Love and Love..irrational of course..

His antics..the fist pumps, the pre match knee jumps..the game face...all a bit of false bravado...

All tennis players have some underlying fear of losing, but the champions keep the lid on it..and he learned to do that with the best...

All the things that made me dislike him from day one! His gamesmanship or lack thereof is truly some of the worst I've seen! Even when he's obviously far superior, he still makes it his practice to make his opponent look as small as possible; challenging calls with huge leads, excessive toweling off, receiving coaching from the stands, and all those fake medical timeouts when in trouble! He's been pathetic from the beginning! :nono

All things that your fav does made me dislike him but I don't have to repeat it again and again because really I don't care what he does. You put too much attention on what Rafa does which it's going more than ridiculous. You can tell that he has made you to suffer too much :clap and I hope he would continue doing more and more ;):p

Rafa doesn't have to prove anything else. He has done enough to consider him one of the best players of the history, if tomorrow he would retire all his multiple fans would feel very happy with all his achievements but for disgrace of his antis he will continue playing and hopefully if he would focus more and better he will get more achievements, all would depend of him but not because his 'fear' 'antics' or 'jumps' . Others make worse things :cover

you talk as if he was Never a supreme confident player which he actually was until 2014-15. I assumed your inquiry was based on Rafa's current lack of confidence which again cause him to not trust his strokes as well as his body including his head.

Some people just can't see that Rafa's confidence has to be shot; being challenged from the 1st round as always, but these days he's actually cracked! He hasn't adapted to the situation and made any changes; is he not smart enough to do that? :puzzled :nono :cover :p

The truth is Rafa is as stubborn as his Spanish ego , a Malacca Bull. It's his family loyalty and unwilling to change that has made it is for the pundits and naysayers such as yourself, the Fed fans and the recent bandwagon jumping Djokovic fans to relished in his rapid demise . I am a spiritual person by nature and feel in work there's Faith however Nadal is pushing my tolerance to its extreme limitations.

He seems to have that effect on a lot of people :snicker

totally agree he has nothing to prove. he will be seen in history as a legend..heck, he was a legend during his prime..there are very few players that reach THAT status..Borg...Agassi....maybe Laver...

I want him to stick around. A long time.

of course he was supremely confident..up until around 2012..he knew there was an overwhelming chance he was going to win every match he played, except for Novak, where at that point it was going to be a war. His fearhand was a vicious weapon that he could flatten out and paint lines like a dart thrower. I think his early round losses at Wimby I don't think were a big deal to him, coming off of French Open wins...but the early losses at the US and Aussie Opens were troubling for sure. Indoors he always struggled. I have heard some nut jobs say he likes fast indoor courts. Not.

He would have a look on his face that was so steely, brash, and quite frankly, merciless. He was ruthless.

No I see doubt, doubt, doubt in his face. A players face tells everything.

The big problem of Rafa is his serve which is worse than ever. Time before his game didn't depend of his serve like others players need so badly but at the present with his lack of confidence a good serve would be a good help for him to make free points but unfortunately I don't see any improvement and that's what he needs more than anything else.

You are correct. His serve would be a disaster if he was a righty. Since it has left spin and direction is at least does not lose him the point but it does win him the point. He can, of course, throw down an ace when he is brave enough. Boy his second serve landing short. When he was confident it landed deep near the lines and was nasty.

He will never be a natural server since he is a righty. He has 3 months of glorious serving a few years ago which helped him win the USO but his reward was a fucked up shoulder.

Maybe that Federer fella qualifies for that accolade as well  Sampras and Djokovic also. In fact there are many more.
