If you take away the $100million+in prize money and endorsements, 14 slams, an olympic gold and various other accolades then yeah, I'd agree. His career was a waste of time. No doubt he wishes he'd got a job working on a Mallorcan fishing trawler. At the same time, if Federer wins another slam on Sunday then the whole tour may as well retire. Great post AP.
Remember BB and all who "like BB's post" , the operative words I said for " this Rafa fan" his career would be a waste. It's the way I feel and there is no Damn other numeric logic you can post that can tell me I should be content with 2nd place. I am not built like that, sorry its the way I am.
Sorry brother, we're always on the same team, but this is extremism of opinion that we could associate with our buddy on the other team, Darthfed, who believes that second is nothing, etc and has been highly critical of Roger for
only winning 17 majors. Fact is, both these players are exceptional. And there's no waste, because we all got a lot of miles out of Fedal, and a ton of great matches. Rafa might have caught him on slams won had he stayed fit over the last few seasons, but so what if he doesn't? Tennis historians will forever tie these two together, like Borg and Mac. They'll be inseparable, and the battles will be remembered, all the drama and championships.
You know what I think of their rivalry, but even still, I wouldn't measure Rafa's achievements by looking at what Roger has done. I look at what Rafa has been able to do, and that's good enough for me...
