So, who are the Nadal fans rooting for? While many tend to tolerate Fed more, if he were to win, it would be almost assured that the slam count would be out of reach? If Novak wins, well many of nadal fans least favorite player will take the cake. Who are you rooting for?

Also, this really is meant to be light hearted, so have fun with it. Please! Please!

Lol Kieran. I am rooting for Fed like hell. Rafa won't sniff another slam semi the way he is playing anyway. Come to think of it, for a pure Nadal fan, this match is hell. I would be very happy for Fedex if he pulled out the win. I was reminded today just how good he is, playing it like chess, and being aggressive during the whole thing, even though Andy hit some great shots. Net game wasn't that impressive, but all in all, a brilliant performance.

It seems like it is between "Do I still think Rafa has more than a snowball's chance in hell of catching Roger, or am I more afraid that Novak will catch Rafa?"

Couple that with the fact that Rafa owned Roger but Novak was creeping up and has been the overall more dominant player for five years now and I'm guessing Rafa fans should vote for Roger.

All that aside, if I were a Rafa fan I'd just hope for a great match.

If I were a Nadal fan, I would root for a two and half sets beat down of Djokovic by Federer. Then, completely mad by the result and the crowd, Djokovic looses his temper and smashes a volley into Federer's chest, killing him, and thus winning the match and the title. However, afterwards he is convicted to life in jail, so he cannot surpass Nadal's slam count or threat him at RG again.

IMO, the slam count thingy is out of reach for Rafa anyway.

This is a reasonable approach, and I'm tempted to agree...

...however, I didn't think of this option! Except, then Djokovic would be defaulted, and Roger would win posthumously. (Wow, now there's an asterisk.)

So I'll just be an old prune and go with Kieran...both lose decisively. :laydownlaughing

Who do you think Sampras will be rooting for? :snicker

Sampras got the Wimby title thing on the line, Borg got the number of matches won thing tied with Nole on the line (I think). There will be some anxious eyes watching this one. On the other hand, Nadal probably got a fish on the line...:snicker

Pete will be gritting his teeth and claiming he's rooting for his buddy Roger. I mean, why WOULDN'T he want his record broken? He's not one of those guys who cares about records... Oh, wait. ...

There's always hope Tented, if Federer gets number 18 , then for all intense purposes , the GOAT debate is settled.

Who needs a fish?

He's spoilt for choice :p

Probably why his focus has gone down. His extracurriculars are so promising. Your man? No wonder he likes on his day job. :p (You old wart!)

And now you've got Stan's RG shorts to block out, too!

I don't "tolerate" Federer. I like him just fine so it's an easy choice. Would have been much more difficult if Rafa was closing in on the slam record but he's not going to catch Roger regardless so the old man might as well win another deserved Wimbledon and it would make a great story.

It would also stop Darth from spreading nonsense such as Fed hasn't done anything remarkable in his 30's so...win/win?

If or when Roger captures number 18 for this Rafa fan it will be "game, set and match" and Rafa's whole career would be a complete waste. Sunday's match results may be both Federer final coronation and Rafael's tennis funeral. So to answer this question , Djokovic is the lesser of these two "evils" for lack of a better word. Damn.
