They did shake hands and I am happy to be wrong that Genie couldn't do anything about Sharapova. She hung in there and gave just as good as she got. Beat Maria at her own game from the baseline. It was a gut check and she came through w/ flying colors. You should have seen her reaction after MP. Giddy like a kid at the candy store. :clap

Meldopova is currently ranked at #258. She needs to get into top 208 to gain direct entry into qualifying draw of Wimby and needs to get into top 104 to gain direct entry into main draw
of Wimby. She currently has 185 points. If she can gather just as little as 100 points in Rome, she
can get into qualifying tourney of Wimbledon. If she wants to enter the main draw, she needs to make at least an SF at Rome. Otherwise, she will be at the mercy of organizers.

Well Carla defeated Caroline - not a great match but well fighted by Carla Suarez Navarro. Caroline shoed glimpse of great play in the second set but was a little marked by the maraton match yesterday. Of she goes to STRASBOURG, where she's playing next. Have a good time with your favorites ;)

One of the best matches I have seen from Bouchard in a long time, well deserved win.
I'm hoping to catch the replay. So glad Bouchard won, and played so well. She'd set herself up, a bit, so good for her for stepping up. I hope it spurs on her season. I would feel clever for picking her to win it, except that Konta and Muguruza have completely blown up my draws, so it's small comfort. :lol6:

Sorry to say, but every time you think Caro will do something, she always keeps disappointing.
Now, we will have a Serenaless year. This is her last chance to win something big. But, my guess is that ship has sailed for her.
