Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Muguruza, Svitolina all out. I think Konta lost too but can't find the result to confirm.

Genie won't do anything. She can't even beat a player ranked in the 40's, she's not going to bother a former RG champ :nono

I'll be interested in the Bouchard/Sharapova grudge match.

Konta lost to Laura Siegemund 36 75 64.BTW Konta has still won just three games on the surface in her career.

Pliskova out in straights.

Kerbie sneaks past Siniakova 7-5 in the 3rd after Sini served for the match. She will get the winner of Sharapova/Genie

6-5 to Genie, but again, she's struggling to hold. Then again, why am I mentioning this? It's a common feature of the WTA. 30-40 to Sharapova...

Now we find out how much Sharapova has been training. She played 3 sets yesterday and will have to play 3 today if she wants to win. But then she will get a day off and have to play Kerbie on Wed.

We'll also find out if Genie has it in her to keep Sharapova under pressure. I have a feeling that this match will have only one tipping point, and whoever gets the best of it will win. The old cliche applies, I think: Genie's got to close it out in this set!

Genie is slipping worse here than she did that fateful evening in the Flushing Meadows locker room. 4 games on the bounce for the screamer...

She had her chance. She needed to put the final nail in Maria's coffin in the 2nd set and she lost the plot.

Genie is scrapping! Had bp's to go 3-2 up, locked at 2-2. You know, I have a sneaking feeling I might be wrong here, and she'll hang on...

Gonna miss the end of this one, just when Genie breaks to lead 4-3. :cover

Is she still seeing that fan from Twitter, by the way? :popcorn
