What's really sad is Simona won this title after a magnificent effort from Mlad. Why is Nastase giving the trophy to a Romanian winner when he was put out of his own stadium in Romania? Add in the fact that Tiriac really likes and supports Simona. :cover

Too late to begin a controversy? I just read that Ilie Nastase was on the podium for the awarding of the women's trophy. Yes, it was Halep, a Romanian, but the tournament owner, Ian Tiriac, also a Romanian, seemed to be putting it up the nose of the WTA. That was Tiriac shoving it up the WTA's nose, and I think they should both be sanctioned for it. Terrible call.
