Shapo looks terrible. That coupled with some great returning from Zverev, who looks dialed in.

Huh? I thought Spain was 3 hours later than us which would make it 1:08 the next day.

I've been to Spain. Spain, Italy and France are 7 hours ahead of me in the Central time zone.

I've also been to Spain & I'm in Britain so work on G.M.T. I thought I remembered putting my clocks forward 3 hours & the clock on my P.C. reads 22:14. I'm very sorry for contradicting you. Please feel free to remove & accept my apology if I'm wrong. I never mean to make anyone feel bad & am 1 of the least confrontational people on here. I'm just not argumentative though Dad bought me a t-shirt saying "I'm not arguing. I'm just explaining why I'm right.".

The outcome is what we expected. Shapo should do well on grass. His style doesn’t suit clay.

Zverev impressed today. The way he returned , he would give anyone a run for their money on this surface today. Shapo fought for one set but after that Zverev went to another gear, left Shapo behind in the dust.
Is it true he only faced one break point this week? This is a masters 1000 and it is clay. That is hard to believe.

I have to disagree. Shapo has huge topspin on both sides, which is great for clay. His swing is huge, again better for clay than faster surfaces. He needs to learn the surface, find his footing. I think the kid has a game that can be good on all surfaces, if he works at it.

True. He's been a serving machine this week

Thiem vs. Zverev should be interesting, although I probably give the edge to Sascha.

It's not a big deal. This is a page I use all the time to determine when matches will be played in different countries http://worldclock.com/

I should have said Shapo’s style doesn’t suit clay as well as AZ’s. Obviously, Shapo plays well enough on clay to get this far in the tournament. His aggressive game and leftyness will help him win grass tournaments.

I wonder what happened with Shapovalov in game 9 of the first set. Up to that point everything was fine, 4-4, and he won first 2 points on his service and then he suddenly melted down. Zverev won 4 points in a row to break and all the other games in the match except one.

Zverev have been coached by Becker during the match, but still Shapovalov's meltdown was prevailing for his loss.

Anyway, go Thiem!

Thiem is the favorite by a mile. On clay, if both play their best, is 6x4 6x2. If they both play their averages, is 6x3 6x2..

So Federer is back at #1 on Monday following Thiem's won over Nadal. Is that through to Halle or Wimbledon?

Both fedal got back their #1 by sitting on the couch, doesnt get any better than that.

Thiem is definitely the favorite but I'm glad Sascha has found his game again since Miami. I'm surprised he's done this well on clay.
