Mentally The Young Greek has to show up when it matters? he really hasnt been the same player since he lost to Novak at RG last year leading 2 sets to love
Lets see how he goes here in Madrid and Roma
I have been wrong today but I'm sure the Young Greek will defeat Sascha today.

Alcaraz is on fire. He definitely is playing with a lot more freedom than anyone else right now. RG is going to be interesting.

This is just dumb scheduling from the organizers of the Madrid Open.

What they should do is this:

Play the Women’s final at 1 pm local

Then play the 1st Men’s SF right after then play 2nd Men’s SF right after

There should be NO absolutely reason that the 1st match starts at 4 pm local time.

Now, the 2nd Men’s SF does not start until close to Midnight local time. It is just absurd scheduling…

I disagree. The women are leaving town after they play. Why put them on first? Play both men's SF starting at 2pm and then play the women's final in the night session. Easy peasey.

There is a cultural reason for that. The Spanish eat lunch between 2-3:30pm, generally. So 4pm is like the US 1pm, if you like. And Spaniards think nothing of staying out until 2am, especially on a Saturday night. That’s actually an early night. I’m not even kidding.

I get the cultural part of Europe, I still think it is unfair to the players for this type of scheduling.

If they are gonna do this type of scheduling, then just have the Women’s and Men’s Finals on Sunday.

Anyways, unfortunately, it is what it is at this point.

Then they would have to start both the women and men together as Kskate and I discussed earlier Madrid has not the capacity, Rome has.

Pretty late. But for staying out late, it’s not even close. Rafa has said he’s friends used to make fun of him for going home at 2-3am because he had to practice in the morning. And it’s not just 20-somethings.

But tennis is entertainment, is it not? Well? They’re performing in Spain this week.

What’s interesting is that the Women’s tournament starts one week earlier than Men’s tournament, however, the Women’s final is only 1 day ahead of the Men’s Final.

I’ve seen one vote for wanting Zverev to face Alcaraz. Does anyone else care who wins this match? I still prefer Stefanos, of the two.
