Out of position on the return, clever serve by Berdy, but it was hunted down. Vamos! :clap

The beginning of the end for Berdy. Some nice play there by Nadal. Still a lot of weird uncharacteristic errors though.

Yeah, it's one of those matches, in that he looks like he's playing his way into form, rather than being there already. Good opponent for this kind of thing...

I'm not sure about that, but Berdych is no match. I think the grinders will fare better against Nadal at this point, but luckily for him, there are none left in the draw, or at least at his side.

Berdych should start hitting a slice drop shot as a serve now, the ROS position of Nadal is just ridiculously far behind the baseline.

I just tuned in hoping to catch the 2nd set and I see Nadal serving for it.

Yup, pretty good performance. Totally blew Berdych off the court.

Well now, I was referring to a rally with that post, where the King of Tennis lassoed his hapless foe into the backhand corner, using his forehand as a rope, before finally administering the coup de grace with a totally unexpected forehand winner... :clap :clap ;)

That is already two Spaniards in SF with one guaranteed finalist as well.
Order restored after two finals in MC and Barcelona with no Spaniard in it.

There is also the possibility of two more Spaniards making it to the
other SF.

Just watched the match. Rafa was sharp and forehand was solid. Backhands are still falling short. The score makes it look like a straight forward win as usual against Bird, and it kinda was, but there were serious turning points: Bird leading 0-30 on Rafa's serve, has an easy shot, makes the wrong choice, Rafa holds, goes on to break...etc. Had Bird broken there, the psychology of the match changes. Seemed like Rafa won every point that mattered, Bird folded when he needed to step up.

Very positive from Rafa though. Some forehands were vintage.
