Rafa says : "I've played really bad, I did many errors and against an opponent who doesn't give you the rhythm but even that I won and I expect to play better tomorrow"
Definitely he found the game and looking more comsistent in the third set because in the first and second he looked completely lost, 5 double fault and 46 unforced errors which is not very common when he plays well

Fog seemed to push Wafa hard but couldn't get it done in the end. Nice to keep the asshole out there awhile though, tire him out. Hope Kyrgios can make it a Wafa-free tourney.
You're not especially attractive when you're this openly hostile, esp. when your guy isn't even in the tournament, but I still love ya. :smooch: Rafa didn't look as good as he's been looking this year today, but I think it has to do with Fognini. He served for the first set and failed to close the deal, which was 2015-16 Rafa, not the 2017 version. And he was very passive. I believe it has to do with there being a bit of spite and malice between them, even beyond Fabio's excellent if streaky game. This level won't get it done against Kyrgios, so I hope he brings the more confident and aggressive game back tomorrow.

Stanimal is going to be very dangerous at RG. He proved again today by losing early. I am not being sarcastic. Stanimal goes on a big run when you least expect it to happen.

And once you come to expect his big run, it will suddenly become what is expected, and Stan will paradoxically never have a big run again.
You monster.
On a serious note, he has disappointed me beyond beyond belief last year at RG. Horror performance. Murray played probably his best match on clay, like ever, and Stan couldn't get adjusted to the damp conditions. This only leads me to believe that he will give it his all come RG.

I don't even know why Stan bothers showing up for these tournaments if this is all the effort he's going to put into it. Didn't he allegedly trash talk the French Davis Cup team that he's not #3 in the world for nothing? Well, try growing a pair occasionally and proving it by wining a 500 or Masters tournament. He's basically got 5 good results since last year's French Open that account for 4400 of his 5685 points -

2017 IW F - 600
2017 AO SF - 720
2016 USO W - 2000
2016 Canadian Masters SF - 360
2016 FO SF - 720

The problem is...he's played 17 events since then. :nono 7 times he's lost in the 3rd round or earlier - and considering he got a 1st round bye in some of those tourneys? That's downright embarrassing for the #3 ranked player.

Also, I disagree about his RG chances. If he makes it past the 4th round I'm going to be shocked.

I see Nadal is providing an early excuse in case he loses to Kyrgios tomorrow. :lolz:

Fog, you stink. Well, at least now we get to see Kyrgios blast Rafa off the court.

:laydownlaughing That would be hilarious...but even I think Nadal will bring his best scowl and intimidating manner tomorrow. But...I don't see 3 breakers happenings. Plus, you know Nadal isn't going to want to lose to Kyrgios on clay after Federer beat Kyrgios on Miami. His poor widdle pwide would be hurt if that happened. :lolz:

I agree with Tignor's most recent prediction. Kyrgios might upset Rafa. The Madrid courts are more like hard courts and so Kyrgios has an advantage. Further, Rafa has a problem affecting things between his ears, thanks to the following.

Feli is playing remarkably well and is staying with Novak.. it's unfortunate that Novak fakes him out on the point before set point. Not really cool to make it appear the ball may appear to be long. But it's Feli responsibility to keep playing until he hears an out cool. I guess I will call it the Fakeovic maneuver.

I will miss the Rafa-Kyrgios match because at the time I will be flying to NY (to celebrate tomorrow my Birthday with part of my family). Hope Rafa plays much better than yesterday , if he wins great, if not I wouldn't mind at all, he will be in better form in Roma :-)2

I will miss the Rafa-Kyrgios match because I will be flying at that time but watching Feli-Novak I see that Feli is giving a hard time to Novak and this last one is shouting like Tarzan, he really wants to win :D
