Draw:
http://www.atpworldtour.com/en/scores/current/monte-carlo/410/draws

Djokovic - Ferrer
Federer -Tsonga
Nadal - Wawrinka
Murray - Gasquet

Gasquet is not a top 8 seed. Murray's projected QF opponent is Berdych. Gasquet is in Fed's quarter.

Murray seems to have the easiest quarter.

Murray might get Pella in the second round. Pella is a good Argentinian grinder, I won't be surprised to see an upset.

I have noticed Pella. But, I have not even heard of him last year. The chances that he causes such a huge upset is minimal.

Pella just lost his match. My mother told I should not trust people from Argentina...

Anyway, I saw him a bit in Rio (not on court, but on TV) and he was playing well. He dispatched quite easily a player I like to watch on court.

Alex Zverev handily defeated fellow young guy Andrey Rublev, putting him #50 in the live rankings. Another win or two should firmly place him within the top 50. He's at the point where he should be able to consolidate a top 40-50 ranking.

Rublev is clearly not soup yet. He was in the qualification draw in Marrakech and lost to a lesser ranked player. Now, he got booted handily by Zverev.

He lost to a good Frenchman, Pierre Hugues-Herbert. He's a stellar doubles player and Slam champion (with partner Mahut). He also has a decent singles game. A little more confidence in the bigger moments, better fitness and a few technical adjustments... he could be a lot better. Happy to see he took down Pella in two.

And I would add, more focus on the singles. Have you watched the match?

Almagro after his foot surgery has not lifted up his head any more, pity
Hope too see something better by Muzz, after to be a new father he seems to be very unfocused.
Rafa and Verdasco are playing doubles, they need to practice a lot if they want to do well at the Olympics, I would have preferred to see Rafa playing with Lopez but he knows better what to do

I didn't watch the match. How well did Thiem play?

Started out a little rocky, I hear trying to get past some kind of foot injury, but he battled back to win over some tall German kid! Being in Rafa's section, I doubt he'l be able to finish strong! If he does, Nadal's through! :nono

This have something to do with Rosol knocking over Nadal's water bottles? It's one sick picadilo anyway! Most of Rafa's ticks are strange! :nono :cover
