I take back what I said. Rafa played a high quality match. Basically, Murray was ballbashing in thr first set, and I don't know how, but it somehow worked for him. However, couldn't keep it up and went back to his normal level which lead to Rafa giving him a beatdown from the baseline. The guy hit about 20 clean forehand winners.

If somebody showed you that match, and said it was from 2012-2013, you'd have no trouble believing it...

It's pathetic on both sides today but Murray's stalling out of disgust at the umpire. He's not normally anywhere near as slow as Nadal and you know it.

Rafa was able to turn the match around by playing aggressive to Andy's fh and coming forward. It's the same script he needs to apply to your new "beloved" Djoker.

Dunno why you think Djokovic is my beloved but whatever. The reason Nadal won was because Murray's serve was terrible from the 2nd set onwards and the umpire was p1$$1ng him off and completely throwing him off his game. Nadal started playing a bit better as well than the first set but the umpire was appalling all match as was Andy's serve for the last 2 sets which had the biggest impact on the outcome.

Rafa won because he was the aggressor and Yes you haven't professed your love for Djokovic but it's very apparent you in and on his bandwagon, even Fiero would admit it

Yup, the 2nd set was full of passive, pusher muck. Some great shots too at times but the balls were being pushed by both way more in the 2nd set. In set 1 Murray played more like Fognini than his usual game. He should never have allowed himself to drift back to pushing. His crap serving didn't help either.

I admire his game when he's playing well, and as I can't stand Nadal or Murray, if he plays them I hope he wins. Besides that I couldn't care less if he wins or not actually so you have things 100% wrong. For a change. :s I actually like the underdog to win often 'cos tennis is pretty boring lately with just one guy winning everything so, again, 100% wrong I'm afraid.

Yeah frankly it was boring but Djokovic isn't my favourite player, which is the key point you're missing here. I'm sure you want Nadal to win everything too lol. No different there.

If a guy was playing insanely well I actually may have even wanted him to beat Federer too, shock horror. Haas for example at Halle.

Djokovic losing here instead of winning and Nadal looking likely to win this tournament will make clay season much more interesting than if Novak cruised through all of them. While Djokovic's fans are disappointed he lost I'm sure they'll also agree it makes this clay season more exciting.

Looks like it's gonna be Gael in the final, currently he leads 6-1, 4-2. Of course, this means little: he could just as easily lose the next 10 games in a row...

If the rest of the tour start to play better nobody is going to cruise to anyone like it sadly happened these last months. ATP needs better competition and not to see the best players playing their worst

That guy's such a wasted talent. Won't even watch the final. Maybe background viewing to check a game or two.

Don't be hasty! Rafa's not over his hump until he is, and even then I'm not going to declare him "back" until he's begun winning big, and winning regularly. He dealt with his nerves today, but an anxious Rafa tomorrow could lose against anybody, including a flatfoot clown...

Monfils can serve brilliantly or crap. That will determine his fate. He'll probably do stupid trick shots instead of easy put aways any chance he has on break points and on his own game points and lose spectacularly. Or else win the first set 6-1 and give up like he did against Murray at RG and get double bageled next two sets :s

No. His fate will be determined by whether Rafa plays his best or not. The match isn't on Monfils racket, this is a Rafa who's playing well, in Monte Carlo, where he's won the title 8 times. He's beaten Thiem, Wawrinka, and Murray.

If Rafa plays his best tomorrow, or even as good as he's played all week, Monfils can serve like Sampras, for all the good it'll do him...

LOL, if Monfils served like Sampras there would be only one winner.
