We are witnessing the end of noletardism... 21 will be enough for Nadal, if he wants he can retire right now as the GOAT. Congratulations to Nadal and his fans. :cheerleader: :good::clap::partying-face::dance2::drums::dance1::pompoms::dance3::approved

Good win for the 18 year old Dane Holger Rune, was up on Aslan Karatsev 7-6, 4-2, faltered a bit but recovered to win 7-6, 4-6, 6-3. The kid was able to banish the "why didn't I close it out" demons from his head.

Tennis Channel is especially excited for Korda v. Alcaraz, as you might imagine, though they pick Carlitos. I'm thinking of the difficulty for the chair umpire in the other match of trying to enunciate carefully between "advantage Ruud" and "advantage Rune." (Not quite as unwieldy as when Joao Sousa of Portugal played Joao Souza of Brazil, but it's up there.) :)

I'm excited for Seb vs Carlos. Although I don't think it will be as close as some are expecting.

OMG, the Viking bloodfest! the battle of the Scandinavian R’s! or is it the Nordic U’s?
…and they can’t even secretly curse each other out because Norwegian and Danish are basically dialects of each other, LOL.

May the best forged ax win!
( though I’m rooting for the Danish warrior)

I think it was Goodall that said Fabio got the most out of those 1000 points from 3 years ago. :face-with-hand-over-mouth:
Yep I think with the points coming off after his loss today and he will leave the top 60...also he wasnt very friendly at the net, looked away from the Young Greek :)

OMG, now I have to look them up. (Stand by.) Ruud is Norway, Rune is Denmark. So you're rooting for Rune?? Why? Ruud should win, I guess. (Is @Hoergren going to cross the ATP line and weigh in?)

I'm waiting for the doubles contest between Ruud/Rublev and Ruusuvuori/Rune. Has anyone noticed that Jason Goodall rolls his Rs? It would be worth it just to hear him try to navigate all the trills.

Sorry Moxie I'm not so fond of the ATP tour. The WTA tour is better for me and many times something nice to look at - get it ;)

Wow, I thought there was a nationalist bent to your fandom, but apparently not. So much for Rune, as far as you're concerned.

Just saw the results. Well Novak's journey in Monte Carlo was super fast, he went out in a speed of a lightning strike.

Looks like it will get some time before he gets to play his best, but how long it will take remains to be seen. I have doubts about him and all that has happened recently, it might not be a smooth ride as we all kind of expect from him.

Don Hi!

Well starting back on clay is physically demanding, when you have been off the tour for awhile, also it was windy when Novak was playing which did not help his cause,as he is not a good wind player.Let's see how he fares in his next tournament,he has time before RG starts.

Yeah, he is terrible when there is a wind out there. Still was a bit surprising that he went out THIS early. I had him to win 2 rounds and go down against Alcaraz. Let's wait and see how his game develops.

On the other hand Fokina was a very tough draw for a first match on clay. The guy is really good on clay. I read Novak was gassed out in 3rd set. Well he could be content knowing that he did come back in 2nd set and won in TB. I guess that is the biggest positive he can take from this match and maybe just knowing he will be able to compete week in and week out for the next few months (if covid continues to fade away and european countries allow him to come and play).

I have nothing against Rune and wish him the best of luck. Womens tennis is for the love of details and beautiful women of course. I hope you've seen that I also like other female players than Tauson. I have an abo of WTA tennis TV and watch a lot but not always commenting as there has to be exciting duels and tricks - so ATP is a no go for me - too boring (seen a couple of matches). Happy for our differencies else these forums would be boring - right?

Nope...tight as a drum!
Yikes. I've never seen Carlos make so many errors or serve so poorly. Despite that, he should have won it in straights and now he's likely going down in the decider.
