How many players have beaten Nadal on clay the first time they played him ?

Some point to win it. Rublev is definitely the best of the new guys out there along with Medvedev. RG is obviously a completely different court so means nothing at the end of the day for Nada in that regard but massive confidence boost for Rublev to win his first ever match on clay against Nadal.

There are good days .... and bad days for everyone.
Rublev deserved the win today, like Evans did yesterday.
Yup, Evans completely dismantled Djokovic yesterday. Novak also doesn't play great with the wind but it was Evans' slicing and lack of pace that did him in. Evans ripped lots of deep winners when needed to change up the pace. A crafty game plan and player. Practicing with Federer seems to be bringing out a new level of confidence in his shots.

Who would have thought Medvedev would have stayed number 2 without playing a single match here.

I will be interested to hear what Rafa says in his press conference :)

Rafa is playing Barcelona so he can get the No 2 back with a title win there.
Yeah but just meant it was more likely he would have done it here on paper with Medvedev out before playing a single match.

Right, and don’t forget about the 23 UFE from Djokovic.

Don’t like his ugly attitude , but I think Tsitsipas will win tomorrow, and hopefully lose in the F against Rublev. :crossed-fingers:

Andrey “ most beautiful hair in the ATP” Rublev is just going from strength to strength. Hope he learned his lesson from Miami and plays his second Masters SF with more freedom. That match in Miami he was wound up very tight.

Vamos Rublev !

He was grunting like a stuck pig yesterday as well. They both were tbh but Djokovic does that a lot when he's getting bossed around the court. The errors were likely wind related but if he can't handle the wind he shouldn't eat so much broccoli :D

Rafa

" When you play a great player like him and you don't play well, you lose. For some reason,I was having problems with my serve.Serve was a disaster and that impacts the rest of the game and takes the focus away".

His serve was a disaster,he was serving so well yesterday.I did noticed that his 'ball toss was low' today compared to yesterday. anyway he better work it out.ASAP.

Haha written like a poet.
I see it more like AP, bad day at the office for both. But never ever will this today and yesterday happen in Paris.

That's the thing, Chatrier is a huge court and much slower and Nadal's topspin is far more effective there. He's had bad run ups before RG and still won it so this means nothing for Nadal and likewise for Djokovic either but it'll do wonders for the confidence of Evans and Rublev.
