We should see more often these type of upsets.

We should see more often these type of upsets.

I've been ranting about a lack of them for quite a while, but watching the replay now of Murray and I just can't understand WTH happened? Losing the 2nd set wasn't a big deal, but Andy had a 4-0 lead in the 3rd with 3 or 4 points for 5-1! He systematically started giving this match away because Romas-V wasn't doing anything extraordinary! It's 4 all and more than likely it would click in for him to hold serve then break to close it out! Nole does it that way enough times! Murray plays such a ridiculous game of defense; little to see him making Paris final again! He might as well skip it playing like this! :nono  - - http://fiero4251.blogspot.com/2016/08/fan-page-novak-nole-djokovic.html - -

I just saw the scores for today's matches and I give up on Stan. Why even show up at these Masters events if you're not going to try to win them? Murray's loss isn't surprising given his recent injury, but Stan? His head is still firmly up his butt.

And I since Nadal beat Zverev there goes my chuckle for the week. Djokovic went 3 again and Nadal has to be hoping that that Djokovic is beatable again. Otherwise he's looking at his 8th straight loss to Djokovic and 12th in their last 13 meetings.

Pretty sad, ain't it? You know what'll be even funnier? When he loses to Ramos-Vinolas.

Also, could someone please tell Tomas Berdych to retire? His results are getting worse every torunament. Mr. QF is now Mr. R16. :lolz:

If Nadal wins here which I expect him to he should be the odds on favorite for RG. There is that old axiom on any given day but I believe that there are really just a handful of men at best who can take Nadal out at RG this year. Two of them aren't playing at MC. As for Fed not playing RG this year I won't believe it until I hear it from him..He's being very smart about all this & he will see how the results fair on the clay court circuit until RG.
The two not playing who can beat him: Roger and Delpo? As for Roger playing the French, I like Britbox's point that Roger is the only man on tour with a shot at the CYGS, however remote the possibility, so would he really just skip a Major? I guess we'll see.

My bold prediction for tomorrow is that at least three of the four big 5 members playing tomorrow will lose.
Kudos @mrzz: you came within 2 games of getting 100% on that bold prediction. I think the Baron is going to have to rethink his assessment of your chances with this draw. :good:

I would better say that Novak probably is hoping that Rafa continues been beatable like these last almost three years otherwise he will lose in his permanent residence again and also he couldn't have the same chance and good luck to win RG like he had last year

And some people thought Berdych was going to be a tough draw in the QF ...

Of course, Andy didn't even make it to the QF either ...

Kyrgios is very special, so special that a his 21 years old can't play in MC because he is too tired and needs some rest :laydownlaughing

It's a non mandatory tournament so maybe he's actually seeing the big picture. Ever consider that? Barcelona, Madrid, Rome and RG are coming up and Kyrgios has had a really great season so far. I'd say he's showing maturity for once. Grass court season should be his main focus.

When he reach a MS or GS final and besides that he would be able to win then I would see the big picture

He just made the semis at Miami and lost by a whole 2 points to Federer in a 3rd set TB. That's about as close to making a masters 1000 final as you can get. I'd say you've clearly missed it based on that.

Kyrgios is definitely a dark-horse candidate at Wimbeldon. In fact, I'd probably rank him behind only Roger, Andy, and Novak, at least as of now. He's a better player than Milos, in my opinion.

Absolutely. With that serve he'll be someone everyone will want to avoid at Wimbledon. Injuries have been a problem for him in the past so hopefully he'll stay fit. He's almost the same height as Raonic who is 1 inch taller but way more clunky and made of glass. Kyrgios moves much better and sadly for Raonic his build makes his movement so awkward he'll probably never have an injury free season. He's been out a very long time for just a hamstring injury.

It seems that you are clearly missed, AGAIN! when Kyrgios reach a MS or GS FINA and besides that he would be able to win then I would see the big picture, meanwhile I can't see anything, " he seems, he will, he can, he is" nah, he has still to show a lot more, otherwise he will be nothing

He lost in a 3rd set TB in a Masters 1000 semi final to the best player on tour this year. That's a very good result and he'd have beaten anyone else easily. Again, you're missing everything. He's had a great season and is only 21 and will get better and better. Oh and for a trip down memory lane...

Dark-horse, sure. But to place him that high he needs to put up the results first. I would rather pack him together with ten other guys, forming a decent second tier.

Yes, agreed. My point is only that after those three, he's the (or my) top pick of the "decent second tier," along with Milos, Cilic, Stan, Kei, maybe Dimitrov, etc.

Now that the top half of the draw has blown up, Cuevas is my pick to make the final. Cilic schmilich. No one really commented on the Djokovic match. I was able to watch some. He's still lacking in confidence, not that PCB wasn't valiant. And there was some mention of him grabbing at his shoulder, which has been a nagging issue for him. But he can be a bit dramatic.

LOL, he missed the final by 2 (!) points as I said and would have beaten anyone else that day guaranteed.

I saw Stan's opponent senselessly balloon a sitter in the air for Stanley by using this shot between the legs, when he had plenty of time to step to the side, and blast a winner. What gets into players skulls at these moments... :cover

IDK but the tweener Nick hit for an volley passing shot vs Roger at the net was one of the greatest shots I can remember in sometime.
