I'm European & I wouldn't wear a scarf with a suit & tie either. I'd either wear a suit with a tie or a suit with a summer scarf. If I was wearing both a scarf & a tie I would wear the suit & tie with an over-coat with the scarf in winter when it got too cold to just wear a suit & tie depending on the circumstances. Obviously if I had an interview I would just wear the suit & tie & be extra cold because I'd put my hair in a bun to look smart & my long, thick hair normally serves the purpose of keeping my head warm. To bring the conversation back to tennis I wouldn't wear either to play tennis. I'd wear a white t-shirt with a pair of white shorts.
You're not European anymore. ;) European men tend to sport a scarf as their mothers have always told them they'll catch cold, otherwise. I don't see anything wrong with a suit and a scarf.

Geographically we are as our island is situated in Europe. Genealogically I am as I have a set of Norman-French ancestors although most of my ancestors are Scots/Irish & I have a couple of sets of English ancestors too so I'll always be European. Some do. Some don't. ;0) It's not the fashion unless you're sporting an over-coat. Scarves go with over-coats. Ties go with suits unless you're a lady wearing a summer scarf with a suit & using the summer scarf as a tie.

The draw is out

Projected QFs.

Rafa vs. Thiem
Dimitrov vs. Goffin
Pouille vs. Sasha
PCB vs. Cilic.

Novak does not get a break. Novak plays a qualifier in the opener and then faces Borna Coric (whose baseline play
is steadily improving). If he gets past Borna, he gets Thiem and if he gets past Thiem, he gets Rafa. If he gets past Rafa,
.........ok, let me stop there.

Before Indian Wells draw, a Nole fan with whom I am in contact, said that Delpo was the hottest player and he will be in Nole's earliest draw then. That was the case exactly and it was very similar in Miami.

I asked here the other day, which players are considered the hottest ones on clay this year besides the King of clay and was told that among others it was Thiem by general consensus and sure thing, Nole has Thiem in round 3 and then if he wins he gets Nadal in the quarterfinal, of course if he wins Coric/Beneteau in round 2.

I guess Nole is in earliest possible rounds in Thiem’s and Rafa’s draws, just this time I don’t think they consider themselves unlucky, but they rub their hands in happiness. It is excellent opportunity for both players to improve their h2h with Nole.

If I am allowed to visit only one tourney, I would probably choose MC. Great location and great views and lot of grinding to watch.

Are you reading my mind? I was thinking exactly the same thing couple of days ago.

I'm not sure how fit Thiem is. He's been nursing an ankle injury since Indian Wells... minor fracture.

Obviously, they can't both improve their h2h on Novak. I don't actually think he'll make it to Thiem. Tbh.

I am hoping he is fit enough to win couple of matches in Monte Carlo. Just getting to play against Rafa would be great this time.

For sure, I hope he's fit and playing well, but he'd have to make QFs to play Rafa. That doesn't seem where his level is. But, hey, predicting Novak at this point seems a fool's errand, so it could happen.

In case Nole can't win even his opening match, he better start playing challengers until he improves.

Injured, I think. Pulled out of Houston earlier.

He never entered into MC. You need to register several weeks in advance and he choose not to like RF, JMDP etc. I posted it at that time itself in another thread.

@mrzz is a commie pinko Bernie supporter.

(Like me)

Not quite, but I silver-tape my tennis shoes so I guess you know where I am coming from. Anyway, live and let live, you guys can all happily meet there and I don't have a problem about it. My bad mood at the time just made me rip at the first thing I saw.

Despite what @GSM stated a few weeks back, that no Americans are entered in MC draw, I see 2 of them will play: Donaldson and Sandgren.
Interestingly, Sandgren is still in Houston, where he made the final, while the tournament in MC is already underway.
